Best iPhone App for HVAC Contractors (2026): Top 8

12 min read

I co-founded QuoteIQ, so I'm telling you where I land rather than pretending to referee: QuoteIQ is the iPhone app for HVAC contractors I'd put in a tech's pocket in 2026. It holds a 4.7-star App Store rating from 3.4K ratings, runs on iOS 16 or later, and starts at $29.99 a month with the app included on every plan. Housecall Pro and Jobber have far bigger rating counts, and I say below exactly where each one beats me. See my wider best HVAC software ranking for the office side.

TL;DR

  • QuoteIQ — $29.99/mo, 4.7 stars from 3.4K ratings, iOS 16+. Best all-round for crews that want quotes, maintenance agreements and the app on one plan.

  • Housecall Pro — $79 listed, 4.6 stars from 25K ratings. The biggest iPhone user base; offline is view-only.

  • Jobber — $49/mo, 4.8 stars from 21K ratings, and Tap to Pay on iPhone on every plan.

  • ServiceM8 — $29/mo after a free tier, built around Apple devices, needs iOS 18.

  • Workiz and Service Fusion (#5 and #7) — Workiz adds AI call answering; Service Fusion charges $245 for unlimited users.

  • ServiceTitan and FieldEdge (#6 and #8) — quote-only pricing and App Store ratings of 3.3 and 1.8 on their main listings.

How I Picked These

I own All American Pressure Cleaning and co-founded QuoteIQ. I'm not an HVAC contractor, so I judged these as phone apps, not as HVAC businesses. My criteria: App Store rating and rating count, the minimum iOS version, whether a tech can take a card payment on the iPhone, what happens with no signal, and the monthly price for a small crew. Every competitor figure comes from that vendor's App Store listing, pricing page, help center or HVAC page, checked October 2026, and I linked each one. I haven't run the competitor apps on jobs, so I report what their own pages say and claim nothing past that. The context: the BLS counts 440,900 HVAC mechanics and installers in 2025, projects 11% growth through 2035 and reports a $61,010 median wage. StatCounter put iOS at 53.59% of US mobile traffic in September 2026. If your techs are on iPhones, the app is the job. My HVAC quoting software roundup covers the estimate side.

Prices are standard monthly figures from each vendor's pricing page; ratings are US App Store figures. Both checked October 2026.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall iPhone App for HVAC Contractors

What it is

QuoteIQ is the field service CRM I co-founded and run my own business on. The iPhone app, QuoteIQ: Contractor CRM, shares one codebase with the Android and web apps, so a feature that ships on one ships on all three. On the phone a tech builds estimates, sends invoices, shoots job photos with QuoteIQ Cam and schedules from the calendar. The mobile page lists push notifications, GPS and offline capability on iPhone and iPad. The HVAC page describes an AI Estimator that prices by unit type, tonnage, SEER rating and ductwork scope, plus maintenance-agreement customers who book their own tune-ups online.

"Love how accurate and easy it is to get around in this app!" — Miguel Lozoya (App Store review)

Pricing

From the pricing page, updated September 15, 2026: Essentials $29.99 (1 user), Beginner $99.99 (2), Pro $199.99 (4), Elite $299.99 (10) and Max $699.99 (20). Extra users cost $25 a month, and the iPhone and Android apps are on every plan. QuoteIQ Cam, MapMeasure Pro and inspection forms start at Beginner; GPS tracking and route optimization start at Elite. The trial is 14 days. Book a QuoteIQ demo and ask to see a job edited on your own iPhone.

Where it fits

HVAC outfits of roughly two to ten techs that want estimates, recurring maintenance contracts and the phone app under one monthly bill. Inventory tracking starts at Elite.

Tradeoffs

There's no Tap to Pay on iPhone. Customers pay from an invoice link by card, ACH, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and cash or check gets logged by hand. Equipment details live as custom fields on the customer, not as a per-unit register with its own service history. There's no Apple Watch app. And the pricing page doesn't spell out offline limits, so test that at the demo.

2. Housecall Pro — Best for the Biggest iPhone User Base

What it is

Housecall Pro's iPhone app, Housecall Pro: Field Service, has the largest rating count here: 4.6 stars from 25K ratings, on iOS 16.0 or later. Its HVAC page says techs collect payments on-site and capture digital signatures on estimates in the app, which comes in English and Spanish.

Pricing

The pricing page shows Basic at $59 on annual billing with $79 beside it, Essentials $149 with $189, and Max $299 with $329. The page doesn't label the higher figures, so confirm monthly rates at checkout. Max includes 8 users, then $35 per extra user. The trial is 14 days.

Where it fits

Shops that want a proven, widely used app and flat-rate pricing, which the page lists from Essentials.

Tradeoffs

Offline is view-only. The mobile FAQ says you can open jobs you loaded while connected, but "editing without cell service or WiFi connection is not supported at this time." Route optimization starts at Max. My Housecall Pro vs. QuoteIQ comparison has the full breakdown.

3. Jobber — Best for Tap to Pay on iPhone

What it is

Jobber Field Service Software has the top rating among the big names: 4.8 stars from 21K ratings, on iOS 16.4 or later. Jobber's HVAC page says techs see schedules, job details, checklists and photos, then quote, invoice and collect payment on-site. It also offers good-better-best quote options and recurring maintenance jobs.

Pricing

The pricing page lists month-to-month plans: Core $49 for one user, Connect $139 for one user or $199 for five, Grow $199 or $299, and Plus $499 for five. Extra users are $29 a month. The trial is 14 days.

Where it fits

Crews that take payment at the door. Jobber's Tap to Pay help article says it works on all plans in the US and Canada, on iPhone XS or later, at 2.7% plus 30 cents.

Tradeoffs

The HVAC page doesn't mention offline use, equipment records or flat-rate pricing. Tap to Pay doesn't work on iPads. See my Jobber vs. QuoteIQ breakdown for the full price math.

4. ServiceM8 — Best for Apple-Only Crews

What it is

ServiceM8 is built around Apple hardware: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Vision, with 4.6 stars from 848 ratings. The ServiceM8 and Apple page explains the focus, and the App Store listing includes Tap to Pay on iPhone. Its HVAC page covers asset records and checklists.

Pricing

The US pricing page lists Free ($0, 30 jobs a month), Starter $29 (50 jobs), Growing $79 (150), Premium $149 (500) and Premium Plus $349. Paid plans have unlimited users. The main subscription has a 14-day trial.

Where it fits

Small crews that are all on recent iPhones and would rather pay by job volume than by seat.

Tradeoffs

The App Store listing requires iOS 18.0 or later, the highest floor in this group today. Pricing is capped by jobs per month. The HVAC page doesn't mention maintenance agreements or offline use. Photo markup, diagrams and PDF fill-in are iOS-only features, per the pricing page.

5. Workiz — Best for Calls, Texts and AI Answering

What it is

Workiz Field Service Software is 4.6 stars from 2.2K ratings on iOS 17.0 or later. Its HVAC page centers on one hub for calls and texts and an AI dispatcher that answers 24/7, plus service plans for recurring revenue. Workiz's Tap to Pay FAQ says it needs an iPhone 11 or later and Workiz Pay, at no extra cost.

Pricing

The pricing page lists Standard, Pro and Ultimate as "Request pricing," with a 7-day trial and the mobile app in all three. Card readers are sold separately.

Where it fits

Shops where the phone rings more than the schedule fills, and that want calls and the app in one place.

Tradeoffs

No published prices. The HVAC page doesn't mention a price book, the app or offline use. An admin with an iPhone and Apple ID has to switch Tap to Pay on.

6. ServiceTitan — Best for Shops With 15 or More Techs

What it is

ServiceTitan runs two iPhone apps: ServiceTitan Field at 3.3 stars from 2.2K ratings (iOS 17.4 or later) and the older ServiceTitan Mobile at 2.9 from 1.7K. The HVAC page lists customer histories, job details, estimates and forms in the app, with estimates built from your pricebook.

Pricing

The pricing page shows Starter, Essentials and The Works with "Request Pricing," billed per technician. It offers a demo, not a trial.

Where it fits

Larger, multi-truck operations that want enterprise depth and have the budget for it. My ServiceTitan vs. QuoteIQ comparison goes deeper.

Tradeoffs

App Store ratings well below Housecall Pro, Jobber, ServiceM8 and Workiz. ServiceTitan's system requirements page says both apps need iOS 18.4 starting November 1, 2026, so check your techs' oldest iPhone now.

7. Service Fusion — Best for Unlimited Users

What it is

Service Fusion lists two iPhone apps: the older Service Fusion at 4.6 stars from 1.4K ratings and the newer Service Fusion By EverPro at 2.5 from 24 ratings (iOS 16.4 or later). Its HVAC guide says techs keep working in low-signal areas, with updates syncing when the connection returns.

Pricing

The pricing page shows Starter $245, Plus $382 and Pro $627 on the monthly toggle, each with unlimited users and no contract. It offers a demo; the page states no trial length.

Where it fits

Three-to-ten-tech shops that want to stop thinking about seat counts. The HVAC guide lists a one-to-two-tech company as "Probably more than you need right now."

Tradeoffs

The highest entry price here. The split between a 4.6 listing and a 2.5 listing means you should ask which app your techs will get. Recurring invoicing is on Pro or an add-on, per the guide.

8. FieldEdge — Best for Existing FieldEdge Shops

What it is

FieldEdge has FieldEdge Mobile 1.0 at 1.8 stars from 425 ratings (iOS 15.0 or later) and FieldEdge Mobile 2.0 at 3.5 from 35 ratings. The HVAC page says techs update work orders, capture photos, add notes, make service recommendations, and invoice and collect payments on-site.

Pricing

The pricing page shows Select, Premier and Elite as "Request Pricing," with 2, 4 and 6 mobile app licenses. Its FAQ says "FieldEdge does not offer a free trial."

Where it fits

HVAC shops already on FieldEdge's desktop software that need its flat-rate pricing tools on the phone.

Tradeoffs

The lowest App Store ratings in this roundup, no published price, no trial, and an HVAC page that doesn't mention offline use or which phones it supports.

What Operators Say

These come from QuoteIQ's App Store reviews. None of the three reviewers is tagged as an HVAC contractor in my records, so read them as comments on the app itself.

"The best crm with easy to use interface." — Simon Dziak (App Store review)
"Found this app from a YouTube video, didn’t think it was all that till I tried it… it changed my life." — Eli Hordiner (App Store review)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best iPhone app for HVAC contractors in 2026?

For a small HVAC crew, QuoteIQ is the iPhone app I'd pick. It holds 4.7 stars from 3.4K App Store ratings, needs iOS 16 or later, and starts at $29.99 a month with the app on every plan. I co-founded it, so check the numbers against its App Store listing. If you want the largest iPhone user base, Housecall Pro has 25K ratings at 4.6 and Jobber has 21K at 4.8. For fifteen or more techs on quote-based pricing, look at ServiceTitan. Whatever you shortlist, weigh the minimum iOS version, offline behavior and phone payments next to the rating. My best HVAC software ranking covers the office side. Every price and rating here was checked in October 2026.

How much does an HVAC contractor app cost per month?

Entry prices run from $0 to $245 a month. ServiceM8 has a free tier capped at 30 jobs a month, then $29, $79 and $149, and its paid plans are capped by jobs rather than users. QuoteIQ starts at $29.99, Jobber at $49 for one user, and Housecall Pro lists $79. Service Fusion starts at $245 with unlimited users. Workiz, ServiceTitan and FieldEdge don't publish prices. QuoteIQ and Jobber charge $25 and $29 per extra user, so price your whole crew, not one seat. These are standard monthly figures from October 2026; annual billing is cheaper at most vendors. My HVAC quoting software roundup compares the estimate tools.

Which HVAC apps work offline on an iPhone?

Offline is thinner than the marketing suggests. Housecall Pro's mobile FAQ says you can view jobs you opened while connected, but editing without a signal isn't supported. Service Fusion's HVAC guide says techs can keep working in low-signal areas and updates sync later. QuoteIQ's mobile page lists offline capability on iPhone and iPad without detailing limits. Jobber, ServiceM8, ServiceTitan, Workiz and FieldEdge didn't mention offline use on the pages I read. A crawlspace or a rooftop unit is where signal drops, so ask each vendor to edit a job in airplane mode before you commit. Treat any vendor's offline claim as unproven until you see it work.

Can I take card payments on an iPhone on an HVAC job?

Yes, with Tap to Pay on iPhone at three vendors. Jobber offers it on all plans in the US and Canada at 2.7% plus 30 cents, on iPhone XS or later with Jobber Payments on, and not on iPads. ServiceM8 lists Tap to Pay on iPhone in its App Store description. Workiz offers it to Workiz Pay users on iPhone 11 or later. QuoteIQ doesn't offer Tap to Pay; customers pay from an invoice link by card, ACH, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Housecall Pro, FieldEdge and ServiceTitan list on-site payments, but I didn't confirm Tap to Pay on their pages. Setup at Jobber and Workiz also needs an admin with an Apple account.

What iOS version do HVAC field service apps require?

These are the minimums on the US App Store listings in October 2026: FieldEdge Mobile 2.0 needs iOS 15.1, QuoteIQ and Housecall Pro iOS 16.0, Jobber and Service Fusion By EverPro iOS 16.4, Workiz iOS 17.0, ServiceTitan Field iOS 17.4, and ServiceM8 iOS 18.0. ServiceTitan's help center says both of its apps need iOS 18.4 starting November 1, 2026, and phones below that stop receiving updates. Before you roll out any app, check your techs' oldest iPhone. StatCounter put iOS at 53.59% of US mobile traffic in September 2026, so most crews are already on iPhones. The tech on the oldest phone is the one most likely to get stuck.

Which HVAC app has the best iPhone App Store rating?

Among the big names, Jobber leads at 4.8 stars from 21K ratings, then QuoteIQ at 4.7 from 3.4K. Housecall Pro, ServiceM8, Workiz and Service Fusion's older app sit at 4.6. ServiceTitan Field is at 3.3 from 2.2K ratings and its older Mobile app at 2.9 from 1.7K. FieldEdge Mobile 1.0 is at 1.8 from 425 ratings, and its Mobile 2.0 listing shows 3.5 from 35. A rating from 21K people is a stronger signal than one from a few dozen, and the numbers move, so check the live listing and weigh the rating next to price and iOS requirements. QuoteIQ's own pages list both 4.7 and 4.8, so use the live listing. I'd treat anything under 3.5 as a red flag for a daily-use field app.

Is there a free iPhone app for HVAC contractors?

Every app here is a free download, but the software behind it isn't. ServiceM8 is the only one with a published $0 plan: one user and 30 jobs a month, with text messages at 10 cents each. QuoteIQ's app is free to download, and plans start at $29.99 with a 14-day trial. Jobber and Housecall Pro list 14-day trials, ServiceM8 14 days on its main subscription, and Workiz 7. FieldEdge says it offers no free trial, and ServiceTitan and Service Fusion point to a demo instead. A free listing in the App Store tells you little about what you'll pay once the crew is on it. Check whether a free tier caps jobs, users or texts before you rely on it.

How do I start a QuoteIQ free trial?

Pick a plan on the QuoteIQ pricing page, start the 14-day trial on QuoteIQ's registration page, then download the iPhone app from the App Store. A credit or debit card is required to start. The trial runs on every plan, from Essentials at $29.99 to Max at $699.99, and each person gets one trial. After it you stay on a plan, and extra users are $25 a month each. If you'd rather see it first, book a QuoteIQ demo, bring your oldest iPhone, and ask the team to walk an HVAC quote through it and show how offline behaves. Plans cap users at 1, 2, 4, 10 and 20, so size the plan to your crew. QuoteIQ Cam, MapMeasure Pro and inspection forms start at Beginner.

Bottom Line

If your techs carry iPhones, start with QuoteIQ: $29.99 a month, 4.7 stars, iOS 16 or later, and an app on every plan. Pick Jobber if Tap to Pay on iPhone matters today, Housecall Pro if you want the biggest user base, and ServiceM8 if your whole crew is on recent iPhones. Whatever you choose, make the vendor edit a job in airplane mode on your own phone first. Book a QuoteIQ demo and bring your oldest iPhone.
