Best iPad App for Roofing Estimators (2026): Top 8

13 min read

The best iPad app for roofing estimators in 2026 is QuoteIQ, and I'm saying that as the contractor who co-founded it. It lists iPad support on the App Store, traces a roof from aerial imagery, prices the job and sends a proposal for signature, from $29.99 a month (roof measuring starts on the $99.99 plan). I checked seven other tools against their own pricing pages and App Store listings, and the ranking below says where each one beats mine.

TL;DR

  • QuoteIQ — from $29.99/mo. Measure a roof, price it and send it for signature from an iPad; roof measuring starts at $99.99.

  • JobNimbus — a roofing CRM with an app marked Designed for iPad and rated 4.8. Pricing is request-only.

  • AccuLynx — the full roofing production system, with an iPad Field App. Quote-only.

  • RoofSnap — measure and estimate in one iPad app, from $105 per user per month.

  • Roofr and Hover — Roofr is web-based ($249/mo Essentials), Hover scans from phone photos ($999/yr Pro).

  • Joist and Jobber — low-cost estimate-and-invoice tools ($10 and $49) with no roof measuring.

How I Picked These

I picked these for one job: an estimator standing in a driveway with an iPad who needs a roof measured, priced and signed before leaving. I weighed four things: whether the vendor's App Store listing names iPad, how roof measurements get into the estimate, whether the customer can sign on the device, and what the plan costs at standard monthly billing for an owner plus one estimator. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page and iPad claims from App Store listings or vendor pages, all checked in October 2026. I run a pressure washing business, I'm not a roofer, and I co-founded QuoteIQ, so QuoteIQ is first because that is my position, not a score. I haven't run the other seven tools. Their entries rest on published pages, and where a page doesn't mention iPad I say that instead of guessing.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall iPad App for Roofing Estimators

What it is

QuoteIQ is the contractor CRM I co-founded. Its App Store listing shows iPhone and iPad support (iPadOS 16.0 or later) and 4.7 stars from 3.4K ratings. On an iPad you can trace a roof in MapMeasure Pro, run an AI roof trace that lists each roof segment with its pitch, direction and area, build the estimate from templates and send a proposal for e-signature. QuoteIQ's mobile and web page lists iPhone and iPad, offline use on iOS and a full web app for any browser.

Pricing

QuoteIQ's pricing is Essentials $29.99 (1 user), Beginner $99.99 (2), Pro $199.99 (4), Elite $299.99 (10) and Max $699.99 (20), plus $25 per extra user and a 14-day trial. Roof measuring is the catch: MapMeasure Pro isn't on Essentials, so an iPad roof estimator starts at Beginner, which covers an owner and one estimator. AI AutoMeasure costs 100 IQ Credits per surface. Proposals cost 100 IQ Credits per estimate on Essentials, Beginner and Pro and are included on Elite and Max. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

An owner-operator or a two-person sales team that wants measuring, pricing, signature and invoicing in one iPad app rather than a roofing-only production system. If you already run a roofing CRM, my JobNimbus vs QuoteIQ comparison shows where the two overlap. To try it, book a QuoteIQ demo.

Tradeoffs

QuoteIQ isn't built only for roofing. I found no material-list or insurance supplement workflow in its documentation, so check that before you commit. Aerial measurements are estimates: QuoteIQ's own page says to confirm critical dimensions on site and warns that results get less reliable where trees, shadows or overhangs hide the edges. The pricing page lists Roof & Pitch Measurement on every plan in one table but starts MapMeasure Pro at Beginner in another, so confirm during the trial. The pricing page doesn't mention iPad; the App Store listing does. Extra users cost $25 each, and I haven't run a roofing crew.

“I quoted my pressure washing business and got straight to work!” — Samuel Engler (App Store review)

2. JobNimbus — Best Roofing CRM With an iPad-Compatible App

What it is

JobNimbus is a roofing CRM. Its App Store listing, JobNimbus: All-In-One Roof App, is marked Designed for iPad (iPadOS 18 or later) with 4.8 stars from 13K ratings. The listing says you can enter measurements to build estimates, order measurements from EagleView and HOVER, take and annotate job photos, build photo reports on site and collect proposal signatures in the app.

Pricing

JobNimbus publishes no prices: every plan on its pricing page says Request pricing. Plans are Essentials (up to 3 users), Pro (10), Premium (19) and Enterprise (20 or more). Its FAQ says monthly or annual agreements, no required setup fees, no long-term contracts and a 14-day trial. I can't put a monthly number next to it. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

A roofing company that wants a roofing-specific CRM, ordered aerial measurements and a highly rated iPad-compatible app, and doesn't mind getting a quote first.

Tradeoffs

No published price means no apples-to-apples comparison until you talk to sales. The iPad version needs iPadOS 18 or later, so an older iPad may not install it. I haven't used JobNimbus; this entry rests on its listing and pages.

3. AccuLynx — Best for Full Roofing Production

What it is

AccuLynx is a roofing production system, and its roofing app page says "The AccuLynx mobile Field App for iPhone, iPad, and Android is included with every AccuLynx account." In the app you can build estimates from scratch or templates, have material, labor and profit calculated, order aerial measurement reports from EagleView, GAF QuickMeasure and Geospan, and collect customer signatures once Smart(er) Docs is enabled under Add-Ons.

Pricing

AccuLynx publishes no price. Its plan options page lists Pro and Elite, says a custom quote comes from the sales team, and offers a monthly option with no contract. It offers a demo and states no free trial. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

Established roofing contractors that want estimating, measurements, production and crews in one system, and have a sales process to match. Browse its feature list before the demo.

Tradeoffs

Quote-only pricing and a demo-only entry make it hard to price against the others. A separate AccuLynx Crew app is listed for iPhone and Android only, so crews working from iPads should ask. It's more system than a solo estimator needs. I haven't used it.

4. RoofSnap — Best for Measuring and Estimating in One iPad App

What it is

RoofSnap has an App Store listing, RoofSnap: Roof Measurement App, that lists iPhone and iPad (iPadOS 14.1 or later). It measures with in-app tools and HD aerial imagery, or orders measurements from its SketchOS service, then builds Good, Better, Best estimates with branded documents, contracts and in-app e-signatures. A RoofSnap account is required to use the apps.

Pricing

On RoofSnap's pricing page the monthly subscription starts at $105 per user, annual plans start at $52 per user for 10 or more users and cost more for smaller teams, pay-as-you-go measurement reports start at $13, and there's a 7-day trial. A RoofSnap pricing article dated March 2024 shows the same $105 monthly with $105 for each added user. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

Estimators whose main job is measuring roofs and who want the measurement and the estimate in the same iPad app.

Tradeoffs

At $105 per user per month, an owner and one estimator is $210 before report fees. The App Store listing shows 3.3 stars from 40 ratings, a small sample. The pricing page I read doesn't mention an iPad app or e-signature, so those claims come from the listing. I haven't used RoofSnap.

5. Roofr — Best Web-Based Option for Proposals and Ordered Reports

What it is

Roofr has no native iPad app. Its mobile page says it is not a separate App Store or Google Play download but a mobile-optimized web version you can add to your home screen, and that it works on tablets too. Listed mobile features include measurements, proposals and a job board.

Pricing

Roofr's pricing page shows Starter $0 (10 trial proposals), Essentials $249 and Scale $349 billed monthly; billed yearly, Essentials is $209 and Scale is $299. Measurement reports are pay-as-you-go: $19 on Starter and $13 on paid plans. I left out Measure+, because its card shows $109 monthly and $209 billed yearly and the page doesn't reconcile them. Roofr's pricing update article dated June 17, 2026 says existing customers moved to the new plans from March to May 2026. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

A roofer who wants proposals and ordered measurement reports in a browser and doesn't need an App Store app.

Tradeoffs

No native app means no App Store listing to check iPad support against, and the pages I read don't list offline use. Estimates come from the Instant Estimator add-on rather than the base plans, and its price is unclear on the page. I haven't used Roofr.

6. Hover — Best for Scan-From-Photos Measurements

What it is

Hover's App Store listing lists iPad (iPadOS 17.0 or later). You scan a property, get measurements and build a proposal on site, covering roofing, siding, gutters, windows and doors. Hover's roofing estimate guide, dated March 2024, describes photos taken in the app, a 3D model, editable pitch and materials, and an estimate with material quantities and costs. Hover also publishes a roofing measurement page.

Pricing

Per Hover's pricing page, Starter has no subscription: you pay per project, the first 3 projects are free, and a roof measurement is $29 (simple), $49 (average) or $69 (complex). Pro is $999 a year (roof measurements $9, $29 or $49, and it adds estimates). Business is $2,999 a year with a flat $39 per roof, and Enterprise is custom. Hover shows no monthly subscription price. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

Roofers who also sell siding, gutters and windows and want a 3D scan to drive the whole exterior bundle.

Tradeoffs

Hover's guide describes capture as smartphone photos, so check whether you would scan with an iPad or a phone. Estimates aren't included on Starter, and subscriptions are annual only. I haven't used Hover.

7. Joist — Best Cheap Estimate-and-Invoice App

What it is

Joist has an App Store listing, Joist: Estimate Invoice Maker, that lists iPad (iPadOS 16.0 or later). It creates quotes, converts estimates to invoices, lets you attach photos and add your logo, and takes payments. It doesn't measure roofs.

Pricing

Joist's pricing page shows Basics $10, Pro $17, Elite $32 and Run $100 (shown at $70 introductory) per month, plus an AI Receptionist add-on at $49. Basics is limited to 5 documents a month; Pro adds unlimited documents, line items and photos. The page doesn't state seat limits. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

A roofer who measures with another tool and needs a low-cost estimate-and-invoice app on an iPad.

Tradeoffs

I found no roof measuring, aerial imagery or material lists on the pages I read. The 5-document cap on Basics is tight for a busy estimator. I haven't used Joist.

8. Jobber — Best for Roofing Plus Service Work, With One Caveat

What it is

Jobber is a general field service app, and its mobile app page says you can "Create and send a professional-looking quote from your mobile device" and upload photos taken on site. The caveat is iPad: Jobber's pricing page, app page and help center name iOS and Android apps, and none of them names iPad or tablets, so confirm in the App Store listing before you buy.

Pricing

Jobber's pricing page shows month-to-month ("No commitment") Core $49 (1 user), Connect $139 (1 user), Grow $199 (1 user) and Plus $499 (5 users), with extra users at $29 a month and a 14-day trial with Grow access. Checked October 2026.

Where it fits

A roofer who also does repairs and service calls and wants scheduling and invoicing alongside quotes. My Jobber vs QuoteIQ breakdown covers the general comparison.

Tradeoffs

I found no roof measuring on the pages I read, iPad support isn't confirmed on them, and the app page doesn't mention e-signature. I haven't run Jobber on a roofing job.

What Operators Say

The three reviews in this post come from the QuoteIQ review database. None of the three reviewers is tagged as a roofer, and Samuel Engler runs a pressure washing business, so read them as general feedback on the app, not roofing results.

“Found this app from a YouTube video, didn’t think it was all that till I tried it… it changed my life.” — Eli Hordiner (App Store review)
“It’s definitely a game changer, if you don’t have it get it!” — Mike Stahl (App Store review)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best iPad app for roofing estimators in 2026?

QuoteIQ is my pick, and I co-founded it, so weigh that. It lists iPad support on the App Store, traces roofs from aerial imagery and sends proposals for signature, from $29.99 a month, with roof measuring starting on the $99.99 Beginner plan. If you want a roofing-only CRM, JobNimbus has an app marked Designed for iPad and AccuLynx names an iPad Field App, though both price by quote. Roofr runs as a web app rather than a native one, and Hover is built around photo-based measurements, so each suits a different workflow. Whatever you shortlist, run a roof you have already priced through the trial. For a head-to-head, read my JobNimbus vs QuoteIQ comparison.

How much does roofing estimate software for an iPad cost?

Published monthly prices run from $10 to $499. Joist starts at $10, QuoteIQ at $29.99 ($99.99 with roof measuring), Jobber at $49, RoofSnap at $105 per user and Roofr at $249 for Essentials. Hover charges $999 a year for Pro, while JobNimbus and AccuLynx publish no prices. Measurement reports are extra: Roofr charges $13 to $19 per report and RoofSnap starts at $13. Users matter too: QuoteIQ adds extra users at $25 each and Jobber at $29, while RoofSnap's price is already per user. These are standard monthly prices, so annual billing can come in lower. Check the Joist and Jobber pricing pages for current figures.

Can you measure a roof from an iPad?

Yes, in two ways. Aerial tools such as QuoteIQ's MapMeasure Pro and RoofSnap let you trace a roof from imagery on the screen, and ordering services such as EagleView or GAF QuickMeasure deliver measurements into the estimate. Hover builds them from photos. In QuoteIQ, MapMeasure Pro starts on the Beginner plan, and the AI trace costs 100 IQ Credits per surface. Aerial numbers are estimates, so confirm critical dimensions on site. The safety case is real: OSHA reports 389 fatal falls to a lower level out of 1,034 construction fatalities in 2024 (OSHA). My aerial measurement software for roofing roundup goes deeper.

Can customers sign a roofing estimate on an iPad?

Usually, but check the plan. QuoteIQ proposals support e-signature, and I'd confirm which plan carries it during the trial. JobNimbus's App Store listing says proposal signatures can be requested by email or collected in the app, AccuLynx says signatures can be collected in the Field App once Smart(er) Docs is enabled, and RoofSnap's listing names in-app e-signatures. Roofr's mobile page doesn't list e-signature as a mobile feature. Whichever app you pick, send yourself a test proposal and sign it on the iPad first, because a signing step that works on a laptop can still be clumsy with a finger. For the paperwork side, see my e-signature software for roofing contractors roundup.

Do roofing apps order EagleView or other aerial measurement reports?

Some do. JobNimbus's listing says you can order measurements from EagleView and HOVER inside the app, and AccuLynx lists EagleView, GAF QuickMeasure and Geospan. Roofr sells reports pay-as-you-go ($19 on Starter, $13 on paid plans), and RoofSnap reports start at $13. QuoteIQ works differently: you trace the roof yourself from aerial imagery, with an AI trace at 100 IQ Credits per surface, instead of ordering a finished report. Per-report pricing adds up quickly if you bid a lot of roofs, so count your monthly bids before choosing. If you want a vendor-made report, pick one of the others, and ask in the demo which reports the app orders and who bills you for them.

Is a web app good enough for roofing estimates on an iPad?

It can be. Roofr runs as a mobile-optimized web app and says it works on tablets, and QuoteIQ includes full web access on every plan alongside its App Store app. The tradeoff is the native app: QuoteIQ's mobile page lists push notifications, GPS, camera access and offline use for the iOS app, which I wouldn't assume a browser tab matches. Jobber's pages name iOS and Android apps and none names iPad, so confirm iPad behavior in the App Store listing before you rely on it. If your estimates happen in basements and rural driveways with weak signal, test offline behavior during the trial before you commit. Open the same estimate in Safari and in the app and see which you'd rather use on a roof.

How many roofers work in the United States?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts about 166,900 roofer jobs in 2025, with a median pay of $55,440 a year (May 2025) and 5 percent projected growth from 2025 to 2035, about 8,800 more jobs (BLS, page modified September 14, 2026). It's a growing trade, and every estimator you add is another user fee, so price the whole team before you pick. With that many roofers bidding, I'd expect the contractor who puts a clear written number in front of the homeowner first to have the edge, which is the case for a fast iPad workflow. My software for new roofing companies roundup prices the first-year bill.

How do I start a QuoteIQ trial?

Every QuoteIQ plan has a 14-day trial with 250 IQ Credits, and a credit or debit card is required to start. Pick Beginner or higher if you want roof measuring during the trial, since MapMeasure Pro isn't on Essentials. At 100 IQ Credits per AI roof trace, the trial's 250 credits cover two traces, so choose your test roofs carefully. Jobber also offers a 14-day trial, so you can run the same roof through both and compare numbers instead of feature lists. Download the QuoteIQ app on your iPad, trace a roof you have already priced, and compare the result with your own numbers. You can also book a QuoteIQ demo first, and the QuoteIQ pricing page lists every plan.

Bottom Line

If you're an owner-operator or a small sales team, start with QuoteIQ on a plan that includes MapMeasure Pro, trace a roof you have already priced and compare it to your number. If your work is insurance-heavy or you run production and crews, get a quote from JobNimbus or AccuLynx. If measuring is your bottleneck, price RoofSnap and Hover against your monthly report volume, and if you only need an estimate-and-invoice tool, Joist is the cheapest on this list. I've told you where QuoteIQ falls short, so book a QuoteIQ demo and bring a real roof.
