Best Door Knocking App for Solar Sales Teams (2026)
The best door knocking app for solar sales teams in 2026, for a small or mid-size crew, is QuoteIQ. I co-founded it, so weigh that, but the reason is specific: Atlas, its door knocking map, is on every plan from $29.99 a month, and the same account handles the estimate, the e-signature and the follow-up. Big teams that run on leaderboards and contests should look at other picks, and I say which below. Here are all eight, ranked.
TL;DR
QuoteIQ: best overall for small and mid-size teams. Door knocking map on every plan, from $29.99/mo.
SalesRabbit: best for large canvassing teams. $59/user/mo on Team.
Knockio: best budget all-in-one, with a solar quote builder and e-contracts. $25/user/mo for 1-4 users.
Sunbase: best if you want solar design, proposals and install tracking in one platform. Quote-based.
RepCard, Knockbase, SPOTIO: best for leaderboards, contests and big field orgs.
D2DHQ: best for commission and clawback tracking. Flat from $149/mo.
How I Picked These
I care about three things at the door: how fast a knock gets logged, how fast a yes becomes a signed quote, and what the bill looks like when the team grows. I weighed price at 10 and 25 users, whether follow-up lives in the same system, and whether it works from a phone in the field. I co-founded QuoteIQ and I run my own pressure cleaning company on it, so I'm ranking it first on purpose and telling you why. I don't sell solar, and I haven't run the other seven. For them I'm going from each vendor's published pricing and feature pages, checked September 2026, using standard monthly rates and not annual-prepaid. Where a vendor hides its price behind a demo, I say so instead of guessing. This ranking is aimed at solar teams from two reps to about thirty.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Door Knocking App for Solar Sales Teams
What it is
QuoteIQ is the field service CRM I co-founded. Its door knocking tool lives in Atlas, a prospecting map: drop a pin on any house, set a status, add notes, save the pin as a contact in one tap, and export the list to CSV. The seven starting statuses run from Not Home to Appointment Set, and you can rename, recolor and reorder them. Draw and save canvassing areas, and property lines show free when you zoom in.
Pricing
Plans are flat: Essentials $29.99, Beginner $74.99, Pro $149.99, Elite $299 and Max $699 a month, with a 14-day trial on each. Seats run 1, 2, 4, 10 and unlimited on Max. Atlas door knocking is on every plan; seeing where your reps are, only while they're clocked in, needs Elite or Max. See the pricing page.
Where it fits
Solar teams of up to ten people that want one system from knock to signed quote. A rep sets an appointment on the map, the estimate goes out with e-signature, and Email & Text Automation on Pro follows up when an estimate is created or declined. From Beginner up, MapMeasure Pro uses Google's Solar API to measure roof segments and pitch. Max adds a Sales Team Tracker for commission percentages per rep, which I cover in my commission tracking roundup for roofing sales reps. Book a walkthrough to see Atlas live.
"I recently began using this program for my service business, the instaquote and mapping tool are invaluable." — Mark Drye (App Store review)
Tradeoffs
Atlas launched in September 2026, so it's the newest tool here. It's a map with pins, not a rep-competition platform: there are no knock leaderboards or contests like RepCard and SalesRabbit Pro sell. It isn't a solar design tool either, so pair it with one (my solar proposal software roundup covers those). And seats are capped by plan, so a team over ten people needs Max at $699.
2. SalesRabbit — Best for Large Canvassing Teams
What it is
A dedicated door-to-door app. Its solar page lists territory mapping, lead management, e-signature contracts and financing integrations like GoodLeap and Sunnova.
Pricing
Team is $59 per user monthly. Pro is $75 monthly, or $49 billed annually. DataGrid AI adds $31 per user. Checked on its pricing page in September 2026.
Where it fits
Ten-plus reps that want Pro's gamification and its setter-and-closer scheduler.
Tradeoffs
25 reps on Team is $1,475 a month before any CRM, and Digital Contracts is listed as an add-on.
3. Knockio — Best Budget All-in-One
What it is
Knockio's solar page lists a solar quote builder, digital contracts with e-signatures, live GPS tracking of setters and setter-to-closer handoff.
Pricing
Prospect is $25 per user monthly for 1-4 users and $20 at five or more. Growth is $60 and $45. Its pricing page says billed monthly, no contracts, no setup fee.
Where it fits
Budget teams that want knocking plus proposals. Ten users on Prospect is $200 a month.
Tradeoffs
Still per-user: 25 users on Growth is $1,125 a month.
4. Sunbase — Best for Solar Design-to-Install
What it is
A platform for solar, roofing and construction. Its door-to-door page lists canvassing tools, route optimization, live map tracking and a commission algorithm.
Pricing
Quote-based. Its pricing page says plans start from $59 per user per month with a customized final quote, so don't budget on $59.
Where it fits
Solar companies that want CRM, solar proposals and project management in one place.
Tradeoffs
You need a sales call for a real price, and it's more platform than a pure knocking app.
5. RepCard — Best for Leaderboards and Contests
What it is
RepCard's solar page lists GPS canvassing maps, live leaderboards, sales competitions, a training library and automated follow-up reminders.
Pricing
Starter is $24 and Pro $49 per user monthly with the 17% annual discount applied. Flip its pricing page to Monthly before you budget.
Where it fits
Teams that run on competition and coaching. See how leaderboards get used.
Tradeoffs
SMS is $0.03 per text and Doc Engine is $1 per document.
6. Knockbase — Best for Gamified Canvassing
What it is
Knockbase's solar canvassing page lists territory management, lead capture for roof type and electric bill, appointment setting, commission tracking and HailTrace integration. Its door knocking app page adds leaderboards and offline mode. Its Android app is published under the same Google Play developer account as Sunbase, so think of the two as sibling products.
Pricing
Demo-gated. No prices appear on its site.
Where it fits
Teams that want gamification plus solar-specific lead fields at the door.
Tradeoffs
You can't budget until you talk to sales.
7. SPOTIO — Best for Big Field Sales Orgs
What it is
SPOTIO's solar page covers territories and canvassing through its SOLO integration, plus route planning, leaderboards and a DASH AI co-pilot.
Pricing
Quote-based. Its pricing page lists no dollar figures and carries a "25 licenses or more" note in its plan details.
Where it fits
Big field teams that want a heavy territory and analytics layer. Its door-to-door page explains the fit.
Tradeoffs
Confirm the license minimum before a five-rep crew takes a demo.
8. D2DHQ — Best for Commission and Clawbacks
What it is
A commission platform first: deal imports, per-rep rate cards, clawbacks, escrow and signed rep statements. Its Door Knocker field app is an iPhone app with offline-first capture, and its solar page pays on milestones like signed contract, permit, install and PTO.
Pricing
Flat by deal volume: Starter $149 for 150 settled deals, Pro $299 for 300 and Elite $499 for 600, then $1.50 per extra deal, plus a $500 one-time setup fee, per its home page. There are no per-rep fees.
Where it fits
Teams where chasing commissions and clawbacks costs more time than knocking.
Tradeoffs
The field app is listed as an iPhone app, so ask about Android. It isn't a CRM or a quoting tool.
What Operators Say
"Love this app so much, has given me the ability to weed out the not so serious customers by helping me quote remotely." — Henry Fulbright (App Store review)
"The app is easy to use and I love how professional the estimates and invoices look, especially when you attach photos." — Nick Bosick (Google Play review)
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best door knocking app for solar sales teams in 2026?
For a small or mid-size team I rank QuoteIQ first, because Atlas door knocking is on every plan and the same account handles the estimate, e-signature and follow-up. I co-founded it, so weigh that. SalesRabbit fits large canvassing teams, RepCard and Knockbase fit leaderboard-driven teams, and D2DHQ fits teams buried in clawbacks. Sunbase suits companies that want design and project management in the same platform. Prices for all eight are in the table above, checked September 2026. Shortlist two and run each with real reps for a week before you commit. If you're comparing full CRMs instead, see my QuoteIQ vs Jobber vs Housecall Pro comparison.
How much does a door knocking app cost per rep?
It ranges from about $20 to $75 per rep a month, or a flat plan price. SalesRabbit is $59 on Team and $75 on Pro billed monthly. Knockio is $25 per user for 1-4 users and $20 at five or more on Prospect. QuoteIQ is $29.99 to $699 flat by plan. D2DHQ is $149 to $499 flat by deal volume. SPOTIO, Knockbase and Sunbase are quote-based, and RepCard's monthly rate sits behind a toggle. For 10 users, SalesRabbit Team is $590, Knockio Prospect is $200 and QuoteIQ Elite is $299, though the scopes differ. I'm quoting standard monthly rates only; annual billing lowers several of these, and usage fees such as SMS come on top.
Do solar reps need a canvassing app or a full CRM?
A canvassing app logs knocks and territories. A CRM handles what happens after a yes: the estimate, the e-signature, follow-up texts and scheduling. Teams of up to ten people usually do better with one system, so a lead isn't retyped between tools. Bigger teams often run a dedicated canvassing app into a CRM. SalesRabbit pairs canvassing with financing integrations like GoodLeap and Sunnova, while Knockio and QuoteIQ bundle quoting. My write-up on Pipelines in QuoteIQ shows how deals move from stage to stage. If you already run a CRM, a canvassing-only app can make sense; if you don't, buying two tools doubles the setup.
What features should a solar door knocking app have?
Look for six things: territory or area assignment, editable statuses for every door, notes with a one-tap save to a contact, appointment setting with a setter-to-closer handoff, e-signature on the quote, and automated follow-up. Offline logging matters in dead zones, and Knockbase and D2DHQ both list offline capture. Rep location tracking should stop at clock-out; in QuoteIQ, reps show on the Atlas map only while clocked in. A roof measurement tool is a bonus before the appointment, and it saves a trip when a roof is obviously unsuitable. Ask every vendor to show a knock, a status change and a signed quote on a phone in under five minutes.
Is door-to-door solar sales still worth it in 2026?
Yes, but expect harder conversations. The IRS says the Residential Clean Energy Credit is not available for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. The SEIA and Wood Mackenzie Q3 2026 report puts Q2 2026 residential installs at 995 MWdc, down 12% year over year, and expects residential to contract 23% in 2026. The BLS still projects 37% job growth for solar installers from 2025 to 2035, from 31,100 jobs and $53,140 median pay in 2025. Fewer easy yeses makes follow-up tracking matter more, because teams that log every door and chase every Interested pin lose fewer of the deals that are left.
How do I track door knock status and follow-ups on a map?
In QuoteIQ's Atlas, drop a pin on the house, pick one of the seven default statuses, add a note and save the pin as a contact. Export the list to CSV whenever you need it, and draw saved areas so each rep knows which streets are theirs. Mark a door Do Not Knock so nobody returns to it. Reps need the Use Atlas permission, and buying leads takes the separate Spend in Atlas permission. From there you can build an estimate and turn on Email & Text Automation on Pro, which sends follow-ups when an estimate is created or declined. My guide to estimate follow-up software for roofing shows how those sequences work.
Which door knocking apps charge per user and which charge flat?
SalesRabbit, Knockio, RepCard, SPOTIO and Sunbase price per user. QuoteIQ is flat per plan with seats included: 1, 2, 4, 10 and unlimited on Max. D2DHQ is flat by deal volume with no per-rep fees, and Knockbase publishes no price. For 25 users, SalesRabbit Team is $1,475 a month, Knockio Prospect is $500 and QuoteIQ Max is $699 flat. Those tools cover different scopes, so compare what each bill includes, not just the headline number. A canvassing-only app still needs a CRM behind it. Per-user pricing is fine for a stable crew, while flat pricing helps when you hire seasonal reps. D2DHQ adds a one-time $500 setup fee.
How do I try QuoteIQ's door knocking map before paying?
Atlas is on every plan, and every plan starts with a 14-day trial; a credit or debit card is required to start. Try Essentials at $29.99 a month for pins and statuses, or Elite at $299 to see reps on the map while they're clocked in. Buying business leads inside Atlas is optional: searching is free, and unlocking is priced per business with a $25 minimum. To see it live first, book a QuoteIQ demo and ask for the door knocking walkthrough. Bring your rep count so the plan math is real. Elite also adds Pipelines for tracking each solar deal by stage. The trial is one per person, and Max includes unlimited seats for larger crews.
Bottom Line
If your solar team is ten people or fewer, start on QuoteIQ Elite: $299 a month covers ten users, the door knocking map, the live rep map and Pipelines. Big teams that live on contests should price SalesRabbit or RepCard, and teams drowning in clawbacks should look at D2DHQ. I co-founded QuoteIQ, so I'm biased toward it, and the ranking above shows my math. Book a QuoteIQ demo and bring your rep count.
