Best Door Knocking App for Painting Contractors (2026)
The best door knocking app for painting contractors in 2026 is QuoteIQ's Atlas, and I say that as the guy who co-founded QuoteIQ and runs All American Pressure Cleaning, so weigh it accordingly. Atlas comes with every plan from $29.99 a month, lets you drop a status pin on any house, and turns an "Interested — Follow Up" knock into a contact you can quote without leaving the app. Below are eight apps ranked, with every competitor price pulled from the vendor's own page in October 2026.
TL;DR
QuoteIQ — Atlas door knocking is included from $29.99/mo, with pins, notes and one-tap contacts. Best overall for crews of one to ten.
Knockio — $25 per user per month. Best budget pick for a small crew that only wants canvassing.
SalesRabbit — Free for one user on Lite, $59 per user per month on Team. Best once several people knock at once.
Harvast — A free edition for logging doors. Best for a solo painter testing the habit.
Ecanvasser, RepCard, Knockbase and SPOTIO — Built for large sales teams, and two keep prices behind a demo.
How I Picked These Door Knocking Apps
I'm Mike Vidan. I run a pressure washing company, I co-founded QuoteIQ, and QuoteIQ is the software I use, so this ranking starts from that position and I'd rather say so than hide it. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 31 percent of painters are self-employed, so I weighted small crews heaviest. I judged four things: cost at one to four people, how fast a knock becomes an estimate, whether it works from a phone on a sidewalk, and whether you can rename statuses to match how you sell. Competitor prices come from each vendor's published pricing page, checked October 9, 2026. I haven't run the competitor apps on my own jobs, so what I say about them rests on their pricing pages and feature descriptions. Where a vendor hides pricing behind a demo, I say that instead of guessing.
Quick Comparison
Prices come from each vendor's own page, checked October 2026. Where a page shows no month-to-month rate, the entry says so.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall Door Knocking App for Painting Contractors
What it is
Atlas is QuoteIQ's prospecting map. Tap a house, drop a pin, and tag it with one of seven starting statuses: Not Home, Knocked — No Answer, Contacted, Interested — Follow Up, Not Interested, Do Not Knock or Appointment Set. Rename or recolor them, save notes as you type, turn a pin into a contact in one tap, and export the knock list to CSV.
Pricing
Door knocking is included on every plan. Essentials is $29.99/mo with 1 user, Beginner is $99.99 with 2, Pro is $199.99 with 4, Elite is $299.99 with 10, and Max is $699.99 with 20. Extra seats are $25 per person per month, and every plan has a 14-day trial. These figures come from QuoteIQ's pricing page, checked October 2026.
Where it fits
It fits a painter who knocks the neighborhood around each job, wants every "Interested — Follow Up" to land in the app that writes the estimate, and runs one to ten people. Draw and name an area, assign it to a teammate, and filter the knock list by it. MapMeasure Pro on Beginner and above measures the exterior from satellite imagery before you quote. I covered the same setup for roofing companies and solar sales teams.
So far I have used only the basics of this app and have to say that it has been useful is generating a quick on the spot estimate while doing walk arounds on clients property. — Kevin Shultz (Google Play review)
Tradeoffs
Atlas launched in September 2026, so it doesn't have the years of field use SalesRabbit has. Live team locations and day routing need Elite or Max. The Lead Generator finds businesses such as property managers, not homeowners, and unlocking them costs extra after the free search. If you run a 30-rep sales org with contests, a dedicated tool like SalesRabbit or SPOTIO fits better. You can book a demo to see Atlas on a real map.
2. Knockio — Best Budget Field Sales App
What it is
Knockio is a door-to-door sales app. Its Prospect plan lists unlimited territories, route planning, real-time rep tracking and digital contracts.
Pricing
Prospect is $25 per user per month for one to four users and $20 at five or more. Growth is $60 and $45, and Organize is $35 and $30, all billed monthly per its pricing page. Pre-knocked address data is 15¢ per address.
Where it fits
A one-to-four person crew that wants canvassing for less than a full CRM. Growth adds estimates and invoices, and its canvassing page covers the field side.
Tradeoffs
Cost climbs with every rep, and estimates and invoices start at the $60 Growth tier. Organize doesn't list territories or route planning.
3. SalesRabbit — Best for Larger Canvassing Crews
What it is
SalesRabbit is a field sales platform. Its Team plan lists advanced canvassing, route planning and rep location tracking.
Pricing
Lite is free for one user. Team is $59 per user per month, and Pro is $75 monthly or $49 annually, per its pricing page. The page says contracts run one to three years and paid-plan trials aren't supported.
Where it fits
Painting companies with several reps knocking at once that want map overlays and territory tools. Lite suits a solo painter, minus team management.
Tradeoffs
Per-user pricing adds up, and multi-year contracts are a lot for a seasonal crew. The pricing page doesn't describe pins or statuses, so confirm those in a demo.
4. Harvast — Best Free Option for Solo Painters
What it is
Harvast is a door knocking app for realtors, roofers, home service professionals and field agents, with a map view and stats on which doors you've knocked.
Pricing
The site lists a free edition and a Team Edition shown as $0 per user monthly with a free trial button. I couldn't confirm what Team costs after the trial.
Where it fits
A solo painter who wants to log doors without paying. Its roofer page shows how it's pitched.
Tradeoffs
It describes lead capture and storage, not estimating, so knocks live apart from your quotes. Its home page doesn't mention painting.
5. Ecanvasser — Best for Large Territory Campaigns
What it is
Ecanvasser is a canvassing platform with a custom canvassing app, team and territory management, and route planning.
Pricing
Its pricing page shows Core at $99 a month in the headline and $299 in the calculator, and Pro at $599 and $1,299. It doesn't explain the gap, so confirm before budgeting. The trial is 7 days.
Where it fits
Large organizations covering whole regions, where unlimited users on a flat monthly price beat per-rep fees.
Tradeoffs
It costs more than the painter-sized tools above, and real-time field tracking is a $99-a-month add-on on Core. It's a canvassing system, not an estimating tool.
6. RepCard — Best for Leaderboards and Rep Contests
What it is
RepCard calls itself a sales operating system for home services. Its Pro plan lists canvassing tools, competitions and advanced leaderboards.
Pricing
Starter is $24 and Pro is $49 per user per month, shown with a 17 percent yearly-savings tag on its pricing page. It doesn't show a month-to-month rate.
Where it fits
A painting company with a commissioned sales team that wants contests, training and recruiting in one place.
Tradeoffs
The pricing page doesn't mention maps, pins or statuses, and painting isn't among the trades it names.
7. Knockbase — Best for Multi-Trade Canvassing Teams
What it is
Knockbase says it's built for 10+ home services, including solar, roofing and pest control, with territory mapping that assigns zones.
Pricing
No published prices. You book a demo to get a number, and I didn't find a free trial.
Where it fits
A multi-rep team, such as a painting company that also sells roofing, that wants balanced territories. Its general contractor page is the closest match.
Tradeoffs
Without a public price I can't tell you what it costs a small crew, and painting isn't on its home page trade list.
8. SPOTIO — Best for Large Field Sales Orgs
What it is
SPOTIO is a field sales platform with B2B and B2C plans. Its door knocking guide lists territory mapping, route optimization and reporting as must-haves.
Pricing
No published prices and no free trial, per its pricing page. You request a demo.
Where it fits
Teams of five or more field reps, the size its FAQ says the platform is designed for.
Tradeoffs
Too big for most painting crews, and with no public price you can't budget until you talk to sales.
What Operators Say
Fast customer, location and job entry AND it generates professional looking quotes. — Nicolas Giannini (Google Play review)
My favorite feature is the ability to quote by the square foot in the app. — Josh Swales (Google Play review)
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best door knocking app for painting contractors in 2026?
For most painting contractors, QuoteIQ's Atlas is the best fit, because door knocking is included on every plan from $29.99 a month and each pin can become a contact you quote and schedule in the same app. Knockio is the best budget canvassing-only option at $25 per user per month, and SalesRabbit suits bigger crews. Painters rarely need a 30-rep sales platform, so pick on crew size first and features second. I co-founded QuoteIQ, so check it against the others yourself, and see my guide to the best CRM software for painting contractors for the rest of the stack. All eight are ranked on published prices checked in October 2026.
How much does a door knocking app cost for a painting company?
Prices run from free to several hundred dollars a month. Harvast and SalesRabbit Lite are free for one user, Knockio starts at $25 per user per month (its Growth plan, which adds estimates and invoices, is $60), and SalesRabbit Team is $59 per user per month. QuoteIQ includes Atlas from $29.99 a month with one user, then $25 for each extra seat. Ecanvasser's pricing page shows Core at $99 to $299 a month, RepCard lists $24 to $49 per user with a yearly-savings tag, and SPOTIO and Knockbase don't publish prices. All figures were checked in October 2026, and vendors change them, so confirm on the page before you sign.
Can a painting CRM like DripJobs handle door knocking?
Not that I could find. DripJobs lists a sales pipeline, lead-source connections and AI lead scoring in its feature descriptions, and I didn't see door knocking maps or pins in them. Those are real strengths for a sales pipeline, just a different job than mapping doors. A spreadsheet can cover a few streets, but pins with statuses and notes scale better once you're knocking every week. I compared the two approaches in DripJobs vs QuoteIQ for painting contractors, and QuoteIQ's Atlas keeps the knocks next to the quotes. If you already live in another CRM, pick a canvassing app that exports a CSV and import the interested homes at the end of each week.
How do I track which houses I've already knocked on?
Drop a pin on each house and give it a status before you leave the porch. In QuoteIQ's Atlas the seven starting statuses include Not Home, Appointment Set and Do Not Knock, so you never re-knock a house that told you no, and you can rename them to match your own pitch. Add a note while you're standing there, save the pin as a contact when someone is interested, and export the list to CSV. Knockio's Prospect plan and SalesRabbit's Team plan also list canvassing and route tools. Review the list weekly: the Interested — Follow Up pins are your callbacks, and the Not Home pins are your second pass.
Is door knocking worth it for a painting business?
It can be, because it costs your time instead of ad spend, but track your own numbers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts 326,900 painters in 2025, with 31 percent self-employed, so plenty of small shops compete for the same streets. Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies projected record homeowner remodeling spending of $524 billion in early 2026. I won't quote a generic close rate, because yours depends on your pitch, your price and the neighborhood. Log every knock and count the appointments for a month before you decide whether it earns a permanent spot in your week. Treat it as a test until the numbers say otherwise.
Can a solo painter use a door knocking app?
Yes. Harvast's free edition and SalesRabbit Lite cost nothing for one user, Knockio's Prospect plan is $25 for one to four users, and QuoteIQ Essentials is $29.99 with one user and Atlas included. A second seat there is $25 a month, which costs less than moving up to Beginner at $99.99 if all you need is one more person. SPOTIO's pricing page lists no prices, and its FAQ says the platform is designed for teams of five or more field reps, so it's a poor match for a one-truck shop. Start with the cheapest option that lets you tag a status and write a note on every door, because memory fails by Thursday.
Which door knocking apps track where my reps are?
Several do, at different prices. QuoteIQ's Employees view shows team members on the map only while they're clocked in, and it needs Elite or Max. SalesRabbit's Team plan lists rep location tracking, and Knockio's Prospect plan lists real-time rep tracking. On Ecanvasser, real-time field tracking is a $99-a-month add-on on Core. Tracking matters most when you pay by the knock or split territories between several people. If you're the only one knocking, a pin history of where you've been is enough, and two or three painters on a street is a different problem than twenty reps. Ask any vendor whether tracking stops when your people clock out.
How do I start a QuoteIQ free trial?
Pick a plan on the pricing page and sign up. Every plan has a 14-day trial, and a credit or debit card is required to start. Atlas door knocking is included on every plan, including Essentials at $29.99 a month with one user, and extra seats are $25 per person per month on any paid plan. If you'd rather see it first, book a demo and ask to see a door knocking map set up for a painting crew. Essentials includes 1 user, Beginner 2 and Pro 4, so match the plan to your crew. In the trial, drop a few test pins on your own street and send yourself an estimate to see the full path from knock to quote.
Bottom Line
Painting is a neighborhood business, and a finished house is the best pitch to the ones around it. If you knock doors, use something that logs every status and drops the interested ones straight into an estimate, which is why I put QuoteIQ first. If you're running a bigger sales team, look hard at SalesRabbit and Knockio. Book a QuoteIQ demo, and see my picks for painting estimating software once the leads start coming in.
