Best Proposal Software for Tree Service Companies (2026)
I co-founded QuoteIQ and quote my own jobs with it, so I'm putting it first and showing you where it falls short. For a tree crew that wants branded proposals, a phone signature and satellite measuring, it's what I'd put on the truck in 2026. If tree-by-tree inventory runs your business, SingleOps, Arborgold and ArboStar fit better.
TL;DR
QuoteIQ: from $29.99 a month, with branded proposals, e-signature on every plan and satellite measuring from Beginner.
Jobber: $49 a month for simple quotes with photos and optional line items.
Arborgold and ArboStar: $149 and $199 a month, built for tree care.
SingleOps: $220 a month, strongest for upsell proposals and tree inventory.
Housecall Pro: $79 a month, but proposals need the $329 MAX plan.
Proposify and PandaDoc: document tools for bids, not tree service software.
How I Picked These
I'm Mike Vidan. I run All American Pressure Cleaning and I co-founded QuoteIQ, so read this as a contractor's ranking with a stake in the outcome. I don't run a tree crew: QuoteIQ's details come from how I quote my own jobs and its published docs, and every competitor detail comes from that vendor's own pricing and feature pages, checked October 5, 2026. I weighed standard month-to-month price (not annual prepay), phone signing, photos and options like stump grinding, and what extra seats cost. Labor is the reason: the BLS median for tree trimmers and pruners is $24.50 an hour (May 2025), and IBISWorld puts the U.S. industry near $35.6 billion in 2024.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall for Tree Service Proposals
What it is
QuoteIQ is the field service CRM I co-founded. It builds Standard, Quick, Options (good, better, best) and Package estimates, sends any as a branded proposal with your story, services and photo gallery, and takes the customer's signature on a phone. MapMeasure Pro measures the lot from satellite imagery and feeds the estimate, so you can price a removal before you drive out.
Pricing
Essentials is $29.99 a month (1 user), Beginner $74.99 (2 users, adds MapMeasure Pro), Pro $149.99 (4 users), Elite $299 (10 users) and Max $699. E-signature is on every plan. Branded proposals cost 100 IQ Credits per estimate on Essentials, Beginner and Pro (charged once, free during the 14-day trial) and are included on Elite and Max. Extra seats are $25 per user a month. Book a demo.
Where it fits
Owner-operators and crews of 2 to 10 selling removals, trims and stump grinding from a phone. I'd start tree crews on Beginner.
Tradeoffs
Proposals on Essentials through Pro draw from monthly IQ Credits (500, 1,500 and 3,000), and there's no tree-by-tree inventory map like SingleOps and ArboStar have.
The app is easy to use and I love how professional the estimates and invoices look, especially when you attach photos. — Nick Bosick (Google Play review)

A general field service app with a tree service page. Quotes carry photos, optional line items like stump grinding, and one-click client sign-off.
Pricing
Core is $49 a month month-to-month (1 user), Grow $199 and Plus $499 (5 users). Extra users are $29, per Jobber's pricing page. Rich visuals in quotes start at Grow.

Per-user fees stack as the crew grows, and the polished look sits on the $199 tier.
3. Arborgold — Best for Renewal Proposals
What it is
Arborgold serves tree, lawn and landscape companies. Its e-proposals can require a signature, let customers approve or decline individual services, and take a prepayment percentage.
Pricing
Starter is $149 a month on monthly billing ($129 annual), Professional $343 and Enterprise $573, per Arborgold's pricing page. Every tier includes e-signature approval; branded templates and renewal proposals start at Professional, and tree inventory mapping is Enterprise.
Where it fits
Established companies that rebid recurring pruning or plant health care programs every year.
Tradeoffs
The features tree sellers want most start at $343 a month, and inventory mapping at $573.
4. ArboStar — Best for Tree Mapping on Mobile
What it is
ArboStar attaches property and tree data from its mapping tool to estimates, and its pricing page lists e-signature on every tier.
Pricing
Starter is $199 a month month-to-month ($149 annual) with one office license and one crew login. Growing is $332 ($249 annual) with two office licenses and three crew logins, per ArboStar's pricing page. Extra office licenses are $127 a month.
Where it fits
Dedicated tree companies that want data migration and setup handled for them.
Tradeoffs
Seat limits are tight, and one extra office seat costs more than QuoteIQ's Beginner plan.
5. SingleOps — Best for Upsell Proposals and Tree Inventory
What it is
SingleOps is arborist software from Granum. Proposals list required, recommended and optional services, with unlimited photos per line item and satellite tree mapping.
Pricing
Essential is $220 a month on monthly billing, Plus $385 and Premier $550 (annual is 9 percent less), per SingleOps pricing. Options-based proposals start at Plus. Extra office or sales users add $50 to $150 a month.
Where it fits
Established arborist companies with several crews, plus a tree inventory for repeat customers.
Tradeoffs
It has the highest entry price on this list, and options-based proposals need the $385 plan.

Housecall Pro is a general field service app. Its Sales Proposal Tool presents multiple service levels from an estimate, side by side.
Pricing
Basic is $79 a month month-to-month (1 user), Essentials $189 (5 users) and MAX $329 (8 users, $35 per extra user), per Housecall Pro's pricing page. The sales proposal tool is on MAX only.

Multi-truck companies that like its dispatching, with a sales proposal guide.
Tradeoffs

Pricing
Basic is $29 per user a month with 10 sends, Team $49 per user billed quarterly with 30 sends, and Business starts at $3,900 a year, per Proposify's pricing page. Overage sends cost $0.50 on Basic.
Where it fits
Tree companies chasing HOA, municipal or commercial bids, per its construction page.
Tradeoffs
Sends are counted each time you share a proposal, and it doesn't schedule crews or invoice.
8. PandaDoc — Best Stand-Alone Document Tool
What it is
PandaDoc builds proposals and collects e-signatures. It isn't tree service software and doesn't measure lots or schedule jobs.
Pricing
Starter is $35 per user a month on monthly billing ($19 annual) and Business $65 ($49 annual), per PandaDoc's help center. A free plan covers 5 documents a month.
Where it fits
Larger tree outfits that already run a CRM and want better bid documents.
Tradeoffs
Seat prices multiply, and you re-enter job data from another system.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best proposal software for tree service companies in 2026?
QuoteIQ is my pick for most tree crews, followed by Jobber and Arborgold. I put QuoteIQ first because it combines branded proposals, e-signature on every plan, options-style estimates and satellite measuring from the $74.99 Beginner plan, and I co-founded it, so weigh that. Jobber wins on simplicity at $49 a month. If you sell recurring pruning or plant health care programs, Arborgold and SingleOps are built for that work. If you only need a polished bid document, Proposify does it well, and I'd skip Housecall Pro for proposals unless you're already on MAX. For the wider picture, see my tree service software ranking.
How much does proposal software for tree service companies cost?
Most small tree crews land between $30 and $350 a month. On standard monthly billing, QuoteIQ starts at $29.99, Jobber Core at $49, Housecall Pro Basic at $79 (proposals need MAX at $329), Arborgold Starter at $149, ArboStar Starter at $199 and SingleOps Essential at $220. Document tools charge per seat: PandaDoc Starter is $35 per user and Proposify Basic is $29, and they skip scheduling and invoicing, so budget for a second system. Seats change the math: a four-person Jobber Core account is $49 plus three extra users at $29, or $136 a month. Annual prepay lowers most of these, so compare month-to-month figures, as I did on October 5, 2026.
Do tree service proposals need a customer signature?
I wouldn't send one without it. A signature turns a price into an approved scope, covering removal, haul-away and stump grinding, so a disagreement about what was included is easier to settle. Most tools here capture it electronically: QuoteIQ puts e-signature on every plan, Jobber offers one-click client sign-off, and Arborgold can require a digital signature. In QuoteIQ, editing an estimate after you send it voids the open signature request, so no one signs an old price. Photograph the tree before work and keep the signed copy with the job. Whether a signature is legally required depends on your state and the job, so ask your attorney or insurer. I'm not a lawyer.
Can I send a tree removal proposal from my phone?
Yes, and it's one of the biggest time savers. In QuoteIQ you measure the lot with MapMeasure Pro, price the job, attach photos and send the estimate or branded proposal from your phone, and the customer signs on theirs. It can also generate an AI before-and-after picture from the customer's photo, which uses IQ Credits. ArboStar describes building proposals from the office or the field, and Jobber's mobile app shows crews job details on site. Document-only tools like PandaDoc don't measure lots or schedule crews, so the job data still lives somewhere else. Send it from the driveway while the customer is still home.
What should a tree service proposal include?
It should state the scope in plain words, the price, and what is and isn't included. List each tree and the work, such as removal, crown reduction or pruning, whether you haul away debris, grind the stump and leave chips, plus access needs, any permit or utility-line issues, your insurance and how long the price holds. Add photos and one or two options, such as removal alone versus removal with stump grinding, so the customer can say yes to a version. SingleOps supports required, recommended and optional services, and QuoteIQ's Options estimates work the same way. For pricing context, see my tree service estimating ranking.
Is proposal software worth it for a small tree service crew?
For most crews, yes, once you send more than a few bids a week. The BLS reports a median wage of $24.50 an hour for tree trimmers and pruners (May 2025), so two hours of avoided driving a month is about $49 in wages, more than QuoteIQ Essentials at $29.99. The BLS also projects 5 percent growth in grounds maintenance employment from 2025 to 2035, so the field isn't shrinking. Software that measures from satellite, sends the quote the same day and collects a signature cuts the delay that costs you jobs. A one-truck owner can start on Jobber Core at $49 or QuoteIQ Essentials, then track how many bids you win to see whether it pays.
What is the difference between a tree service estimate and a proposal?
An estimate is a price for defined work, and a proposal wraps that price in a sales document. A tree estimate might be a line-item total for a removal. A proposal adds your company story, photos, options, terms and a signature block, and it's what a homeowner compares against two other bids, which is where photos and options earn their keep. Many tools use the two words interchangeably, so check what each one actually sends. In QuoteIQ a full proposal is built on top of an estimate. On Essentials, Beginner and Pro it costs 100 IQ Credits once per estimate, and it's included on Elite and Max, per the pricing page. My roofing proposal ranking shows this in another trade.
How do I start a QuoteIQ trial for tree service quoting?
Pick a plan on QuoteIQ's pricing page and start the 14-day trial; a credit or debit card is required to start. The trial gives you full access to the plan you choose, so pick the one you'd actually buy. For tree work I'd begin on Beginner at $74.99 a month because it includes MapMeasure Pro. Proposal sends are free during the trial, so build a real tree removal proposal, send it to yourself and sign it on your phone before you decide. Afterward, Beginner's 1,500 monthly IQ Credits cover about 15 proposals if you use nothing else, and Elite and Max include proposals at no credit cost. For a walkthrough first, book a demo.
Bottom Line
I'd put QuoteIQ on a tree crew's phone first: branded proposals, a signature on every plan and satellite measuring from Beginner, starting at $29.99 a month. QuoteIQ is mine, so I linked every competitor number to that vendor's own pricing page so you can check me. If you need tree-by-tree inventory, look at SingleOps or ArboStar. Once a proposal is signed you'll need to bill it, so read my invoicing software ranking for tree service companies, then book a QuoteIQ demo and send yourself a real proposal.
