Best NPS Software for HVAC Companies (2026)

13 min read

The best NPS software for an HVAC company is the one that asks the 0 to 10 question right after the tech leaves, puts a bad answer in front of a person the same day, and costs less than one lost replacement job. I rank QuoteIQ first on that whole loop, because the follow-up text goes out from the same system that holds the job and the invoice, and I say plainly where it falls short: it does not calculate the NPS score for you. If you want the score computed inside your field service software, ServiceTitan is the closest native option. Here are all eight, with prices checked in October 2026.

TL;DR

  • QuoteIQ (#1): Automated follow-up after the invoice is paid, review requests and in-app texting from $29.99 a month. No built-in 0 to 10 score.

  • ServiceTitan (#2): Job completion surveys can switch from five stars to a 0 to 10 NPS rating. Quote-only pricing.

  • Birdeye (#3) and Podium (#4): Dedicated text and email survey tools with an NPS question. Neither publishes a price.

  • SurveyMonkey (#5): An NPS template and calculator at $149 a month billed monthly, but it is not wired to your jobs.

  • Housecall Pro (#6) and Jobber (#7): Good review request tools from $79 and $49 a month. I found no NPS survey on the pages I read.

  • FieldEdge (#8): Quote-only, and survey requests come through partner tools.

How I Picked These

I co-founded QuoteIQ and run All American Pressure Cleaning on it, so I rank it first and I am telling you that up front. I do not run HVAC crews and I have not used the other seven tools. Their entries come from each vendor's published pricing and help pages, checked in October 2026. I weighed four things: whether the tool asks the 0 to 10 question at the right moment, whether a bad answer reaches a person fast, whether it ties back to the job record, and what it costs a shop with a handful of trucks. I used standard monthly prices only, never annual prepay. A vendor that does not publish a price is marked quote-only. The ranking is aimed at owners of HVAC companies with roughly three to fifteen techs, where the owner or a service manager still makes the unhappy-customer call.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall for HVAC Customer Feedback Loops

What it is

QuoteIQ is the field service CRM I co-founded and run my own business on: estimates, scheduling, invoicing, payments and customer texting in one app. For feedback it does three things. It sends a follow-up message after the invoice is paid, it sends the customer to your review page the moment they pay online, and it keeps your review links and Google Business Profile replies in one Review Multiplier dashboard. It does not run a 0 to 10 survey or calculate a score.

Pricing

Five plans at standard monthly rates, from the QuoteIQ pricing page checked in October 2026: Essentials $29.99 (1 user), Beginner $99.99 (2 users), Pro $199.99 (4 users), Elite $299.99 (10 users) and Max $699.99 (20 users). Extra users are $25 each and every plan has a 14-day trial. Email and text automation starts at Pro. The review dashboard and the post-payment redirect come on every plan, and the timed email or SMS review request is documented at Elite and Max.

Where it fits

It fits the shop that already quotes and invoices from QuoteIQ and wants the feedback step to run without a second login. You can schedule a message after an invoice is paid at 30 minutes, 1 day, 3, 6, 12 or 24 months, so a "how did we do" text and a 12-month tune-up reminder come from one automation sequence. Ask for a 0 to 10 reply in that text and read the answers in ClientHub, the in-app two-way texting that starts at Pro. Book a demo if you want to see the sequence built.

"As well it helps me keep my customers happy." — Tony Tompros (Google Play review)

Tradeoffs

There is no 0 to 10 survey and no score dashboard, so you tally replies yourself. Automated texts start at Pro, which is $199.99 a month, and the timed review request is an Elite feature. I run a pressure cleaning company, not an HVAC crew, and I did not find an HVAC-specific survey template. If the score itself is what you need, use one of the next four.

2. ServiceTitan — Best for a Native NPS Score

What it is

ServiceTitan is the large HVAC field service platform. Its job completion surveys go out by text or email when a job is completed, and the NPS survey overview says you can switch technician ratings from stars to NPS by contacting support, after which the score shows on your Technician Dashboard.

Pricing

ServiceTitan does not publish a price in the help articles I read, and neither article names a plan or add-on the surveys require. Treat it as quote-only and ask your success manager what survey access costs before you sign. Its online reputation guide covers the review side.

Where it fits

A larger shop already on ServiceTitan that wants the score tied to each technician. The survey only fires when the job is completed, a technician was dispatched and arrived, and the job is above the sold threshold you set for that job type, so small calls can be left out on purpose.

Tradeoffs

The default is a five-star rating, and the 0 to 10 NPS setting is a change you make with the platform. Text and email are set up one channel at a time, and the setup runs through your success or implementation manager. I compare the two platforms in ServiceTitan vs QuoteIQ. The survey setup article is the place to start.

3. Birdeye — Best for Surveys Across Many Channels

What it is

Birdeye is a reputation and customer experience platform. Its survey tool has an NPS question type that asks the 0 to 10 likelihood-to-recommend question and sorts answers into detractors, passives and promoters. Its FieldEdge integration sends review and survey requests automatically after a completed job.

Pricing

The Birdeye pricing page shows no dollar amounts. It asks for your business email and number of locations before it gives you a price, so I list it as quote-only.

Where it fits

An HVAC company that wants the survey and the review engine in one reputation tool and is happy to connect it to the field service system it already pays for. Birdeye also lists a FieldPulse integration, which shows it is built to sit beside job software rather than replace it.

Tradeoffs

You pay a separate vendor. The help article walks you through calculating the score yourself by subtracting detractors from promoters, and it does not describe an automatic score report. Pricing needs a sales call. See Birdeye for the full product list.

4. Podium — Best for Text Message Feedback

What it is

Podium is a text messaging and reputation platform. Its feedback tool sends surveys as short automated texts, offers an NPS template, tracks your score over time and flags negative experiences so a person can follow up in a two-way thread, according to Podium's survey software page.

Pricing

The Podium pricing page lists no plan prices and sends you to sales. I could not confirm what the feedback tool costs, so I list Podium as quote-only.

Where it fits

A shop whose customers answer texts faster than email, and that wants the unhappy answer to land in the same thread where the office can reply. Podium also publishes home services customer stories if you want to see how other trades use it.

Tradeoffs

It is a separate system from your jobs and invoices, and I did not confirm a direct HVAC field service integration. No published price. Podium's own site is the place to start.

5. SurveyMonkey — Best Standalone NPS Survey

What it is

SurveyMonkey is a general survey builder with a Net Promoter Score template and a built-in NPS calculator. It is not an HVAC product. You send the survey link yourself or through another tool.

Pricing

On the SurveyMonkey pricing page, the monthly-billed paid plan is Standard Monthly at $149 a month. The Advantage and Premier plans show lower per-month prices, $39 and $139, but they are billed annually, so I do not count them.

Where it fits

A shop that wants a clean score and a simple survey link, and has someone in the office who will send it. SurveyMonkey's NPS page cites about +50 as good and +72 as high for professional services and consumer goods.

Tradeoffs

The page I read does not mention field service software integrations, and it does not say which plans include NPS. Nothing links the answer to a tech, a job or an invoice unless you do it by hand. See SurveyMonkey for the current plan list.

6. Housecall Pro — Best for Review Requests Inside the Job Flow

What it is

Housecall Pro is a field service platform with a Reviews app that sends review requests after a job is completed, supports bulk email requests and collects reviews from Housecall Pro, Google and Facebook on one dashboard. Housecall Pro also publishes a guide to automating customer follow-ups.

Pricing

The Housecall Pro pricing page shows Basic at $79 a month (1 user), Essentials at $189 (5 users) and MAX at $329 (8 users, extra users $35). The page labels the $59, $149 and $299 prices as annual-billed, so I use the higher monthly figures. Replying to reviews is a Premium Review feature.

Where it fits

A small to mid-size HVAC shop already on Housecall Pro that mainly wants more public reviews after each job. I compare the platforms in Housecall Pro vs QuoteIQ.

Tradeoffs

The Reviews app article I read does not mention surveys, feedback forms or NPS, so you would add a survey tool. Check Housecall Pro for anything added since October 2026.

7. Jobber — Best Low-Cost Review Requests

What it is

Jobber is a general field service platform. Its Reviews feature asks customers for Google reviews after a completed job or a paid invoice, shows rating trends on a dashboard and suggests AI replies.

Pricing

The Jobber pricing page shows month-to-month prices of $49 for Core (1 user), $139 for Connect (1 user), $199 for Grow (1 user) and $499 for Plus (5 users), with extra users at $29. The annual prices are lower, and I do not use them.

Where it fits

A very small HVAC business that wants cheap job software and a steady stream of Google review requests. I walk through the full comparison in Jobber vs QuoteIQ.

Tradeoffs

The Reviews page I read lists Google review requests only. It does not mention surveys, private feedback or NPS. Jobber also treats reviews as a marketing tool, and I could not confirm the price. See Jobber for current plans.

8. FieldEdge — Best for Shops Already Using FieldEdge

What it is

FieldEdge is an HVAC-focused field service platform. Its pricing page lists Select, Premier and Elite plans and does not mention surveys or NPS. Feedback comes through partners: a pulseM partnership announced in December 2017 added SMS feedback and review collection, and Birdeye's integration page describes automatic survey requests after a job.

Pricing

Every FieldEdge plan shows Request Pricing, so I list it as quote-only. Some add-ons are marked Call for Pricing.

Where it fits

An HVAC company already on FieldEdge that will connect a survey tool through a partner rather than switch platforms.

Tradeoffs

No built-in survey on the pricing page, no published price and a partner tool to pay for. See FieldEdge for the current plans.

What Operators Say

I do not have HVAC-tagged reviews in the QuoteIQ review database, so these two quotes come from contractors in other trades who use QuoteIQ for the customer side of the job.

"Love this app they really thought of us pressure washers when they built it" — Rich Rozema (Google Play review)
"Definitely the best thing in my arsenal of tools and equipment" — Ryan Elderson (Google Play review)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best NPS software for HVAC companies in 2026?

For an HVAC company that wants the whole feedback loop on one bill, I put QuoteIQ first. On Pro ($199.99 a month) and above it can send a follow-up text or email automatically after the invoice is paid, review requests are built in, and plans start at $29.99. It does not calculate an NPS score. If the score itself is the goal, ServiceTitan can switch its job completion survey from five stars to a 0 to 10 rating, Birdeye and Podium both offer NPS survey tools, and SurveyMonkey has an NPS template. I ranked QuoteIQ first on the full loop, not on the score, and each entry below says where another tool wins.

How much does NPS software for HVAC companies cost?

It runs from about $49 a month to quote-only contracts. Standard monthly prices I checked in October 2026: QuoteIQ $29.99 to $699.99, Jobber Core $49, Housecall Pro Basic $79 and SurveyMonkey Standard Monthly $149. ServiceTitan, Birdeye, Podium and FieldEdge do not publish prices and send you to sales. A lower sticker price does not guarantee a 0 to 10 survey, because the Jobber and Housecall Pro pages I read describe review requests, not NPS. Count your own time as well: someone has to read the answers and call the unhappy customer. Ask each vendor whether the survey is included in the plan or sold as an add-on before you compare totals.

What is a good NPS score for an HVAC company?

Above 50 is generally treated as good and above 70 as world-class, but public HVAC benchmarks are thin. SurveyMonkey's NPS page cites about +50 as good and +72 as high for professional services and consumer goods, and says 25 or below may signal dissatisfaction. ACHR News reported in 2014 that an Ontario HVAC owner was running close to 80 on phone surveys and called anything above 70 world-class. Treat those as direction, not targets. Your own trend over six months, split by tech and job type, tells you more than a national number. Compare like with like, because a text survey sent the same day will not score the same as a phone call a week later.

How do you send an NPS survey after an HVAC service call?

Ask one question: on a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend us to a friend or colleague? Scores of 9 and 10 are promoters, 7 and 8 are passives and 0 to 6 are detractors, and your NPS is the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors, per Bain's definition. Send it by text or email when the job closes. ServiceTitan's job completion survey does this once a technician has arrived and the job is completed. In QuoteIQ, set an Invoice Paid automation on Pro or above, ask for a 0 to 10 reply in the message and tally the replies in ClientHub. Keep the message short and put the 0 to 10 question first so a customer can answer from the lock screen.

How often should an HVAC company send NPS surveys?

Send it once per service call, within a day of the job closing, and not again to the same customer for the same visit. If you sell maintenance plans, add one check-in at a longer interval. Scheduled messages in QuoteIQ can go out 30 minutes, 1 day, 3, 6, 12 or 24 months after an invoice is paid, which fits a check-in before the annual tune-up. Response rates are the real constraint: ACHR News reported 1 to 2 percent online completion at two shops with no incentive, so ask early and keep it to a single question. ServiceTitan surveys its own customers every six months, a useful reference for a relationship survey. Pick one cadence and keep it, so the trend means something.

Can ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro send NPS surveys?

ServiceTitan can. Its job completion survey defaults to five stars and has a Survey Rating Type setting that accepts NPS Score (0 to 10), and its NPS overview says to contact support to switch technician ratings to NPS, after which the score shows on the Technician Dashboard. Housecall Pro's Reviews app automates review requests after a job and supports bulk email requests, but the help article I read does not mention surveys, feedback forms or NPS. ServiceTitan does not publish survey pricing, so ask before you sign, and confirm the current survey options with a rep. My ServiceTitan vs QuoteIQ comparison covers the rest.

What is the difference between NPS and online reviews for an HVAC company?

NPS is a private score you collect to find problems and track loyalty. An online review is a public rating that new customers read before they call. They answer different questions, so a shop needs both. Bain's research found promoters make nearly seven times as many positive referrals as detractors and account for more than 80 percent of positive referrals, though that study covered bank customers, not HVAC. Ask every customer for the review, and use the NPS to find the unhappy ones to call. Birdeye and Podium sell both in one product, while Jobber and QuoteIQ cover the review side. The two feed each other, since a low score is your cue to fix the problem before it becomes a one-star review.

Does QuoteIQ have NPS surveys built in?

No. QuoteIQ does not run a 0 to 10 survey or calculate an NPS score, and I would rather tell you that than have you find out after you sign up. It covers the loop around the score: customers are redirected to your review page the moment they pay online on every plan, scheduled follow-up messages after an invoice is paid start at Pro, timed SMS or email review requests are documented at Elite and Max, and ClientHub two-way texting starts at Pro. Plans run from $29.99 to $699.99 a month, and every plan has a 14-day trial, per the QuoteIQ pricing page. You can book a demo to see the sequence. If a native 0 to 10 score is a hard requirement, pick ServiceTitan, Birdeye, Podium or SurveyMonkey instead.

Bottom Line

If you want the score computed for you, start with ServiceTitan if you are already on it, or Birdeye or Podium if you want a separate tool. If you want the follow-up to run from the same app that sends the estimate and the invoice, that is why I run QuoteIQ and put it first. It starts at $29.99 a month, texting and automation start at Pro, and you read the 0 to 10 replies yourself. See the sequence in a demo and decide whether tallying replies by hand is a fair trade for one login. If public reviews are the bigger gap, my review management software roundup for HVAC is the next read.
