Best Lead Import Software for Contractors (2026): Top 8

Oct 16
12 min read

If I'm moving a contractor's customer list, old CRM export and web leads into one system in 2026, I'd put them on QuoteIQ. Its AI Smart Import reads a CSV from any tool, maps the columns for you and lets you review the mapping before anything lands, and it's on every plan from $29.99 a month. I co-founded QuoteIQ and run my own businesses on it, so I rank it first and say so up front. Here's the full list, including where Workiz, Jobber and the others do something better.

TL;DR

  • QuoteIQ — $29.99/mo. AI maps the columns on any CSV and you approve it before import. Also imports from your phone's address book. Every plan.

  • Workiz — Quote-only pricing. The only tool here with a dedicated leads import (lead status, ad source, dates), handled through support.

  • Jobber — $49/mo. Clean CSV, TSV or PSV client import with errors flagged in red, about 5,000 rows per file.

  • Housecall Pro — $79/mo. File, QuickBooks and phone-contact imports, plus a hands-on import team on Max.

  • HubSpot — Free CRM at $0. The best match-and-update controls, but it isn't a field-service tool.

  • FieldPulse, JobNimbus, ServiceTitan — Quote-only. Template, contacts-only and implementation-led imports, in that order.

How I Picked These

I looked at lead import the way an owner with a spreadsheet and a deadline does. How many ways can leads get in: CSV, phone contacts, web forms, an API? Can I see and fix the column mapping before it commits? What happens with duplicates? Which record types come across, and does a human do it for me or do I? And what does it cost at a one-to-four-person crew? I co-founded QuoteIQ and run my businesses on it, so weigh my ranking accordingly. I haven't run the other seven. Everything about them comes from their published pricing pages and help-center articles, checked October 2026, and where a vendor hides its price behind a demo I say so instead of guessing. This list is aimed at owner-operators and small crews in home services who are moving contacts and leads from spreadsheets or another system into one place.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall for Lead Import

What it is

QuoteIQ is the CRM I co-founded and run my own businesses on. AI Smart Import takes a standard CSV, reads the headers and the data, and maps each field for you, and you review the mapping before you confirm. It imports contacts and services, together or separately, and there's a no-file option that pulls contacts from your phone's address book. The page lists Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan exports as fully supported and says most imports finish in under five minutes, which is QuoteIQ's own claim. For new leads, Atlas lets you search local businesses free and see how many match before you pay, unlock the ones you want and export them to CSV. Contact Request Forms feed a submissions inbox in real time, and a REST API lets Zapier, Make or n8n submit leads without a form.

"I switch from jabber CRM QuoteIQ and I enjoy this one much better." — Jamel Brooks (Google Play review)

Pricing

Essentials $29.99 (1 user), Beginner $99.99 (2 users), Pro $199.99 (4), Elite $299.99 (10) and Max $699.99 (20), with extra users at $25 a month on any plan and a 14-day trial on every plan, per the QuoteIQ pricing page checked October 2026. AI Smart Import is on every plan, and signup offers an optional Done-For-You Setup add-on where the QuoteIQ team handles the contact import, price book and a live onboarding session. See the demo.

Where it fits

Owner-operators and small crews who have a customer list in a spreadsheet or another CRM and want to be quoting the same day. It's also my pick if you want the lead side, finding businesses and catching form submissions, in the same account as the quotes and invoices. If you're switching from another tool, why switching to QuoteIQ is easier than most contractors think covers the process, and the Jobber vs QuoteIQ breakdown has the side-by-side.

Tradeoffs

The Smart Import page documents contacts and services. It doesn't spell out how duplicates are handled, so I'd run a small test batch before a full list. Website forms start at Pro, and tracking imported leads by stage in Pipelines needs Elite and above. Extra users cost $25 each, so a bigger crew adds up.

2. Workiz — Best for Importing Historical Leads

What it is

Workiz is the only tool on this list with a dedicated leads import. You prepare a flat CSV or XLS/XLSX file with lead status, ad source and start and end dates, and submit it to technical support, which usually happens around onboarding. Separate articles cover importing clients and importing data in general. For ongoing leads, the help center points to the Workiz API, Zapier, Angi Leads, Thumbtack and Genius Leads.

Pricing

No published prices. Standard, Pro and Ultimate each show "Request pricing," and the Workiz pricing page offers a 7-day free trial. Ask for a quote before you compare it to anything else here.

Where it fits

Contractors with years of leads in a spreadsheet who want lead statuses and ad sources to survive the move, and who don't mind a support-led process.

Tradeoffs

You submit a formal request instead of clicking import yourself. Job types, lead statuses and ad sources must already exist in Workiz before the file goes in, each lead can carry only one email address, and call and message history, images, line items and service plans don't come across.

3. Jobber — Best for Clean Client File Imports

What it is

Jobber's client import accepts CSV, TSV and PSV files and is limited to admin users. Each file has to stay under 2.5 MB, roughly 5,000 rows, so a bigger list goes in as several files. It validates names, emails, balances and J-IDs and flags errors in red before you finish. Separate help articles cover importing quotes and invoices.

Pricing

Core is $49 a month for 1 user. Connect is $139 for 1 user or $199 for 5. Grow is $199 for 1 user or $299 for 5, and Plus is $499 for 5. Extra users are $29 a month, and the trial is 14 days with Grow features, per the Jobber pricing page checked October 2026.

Where it fits

Crews with a tidy client spreadsheet who want a polished field-service app around it.

Tradeoffs

The import article doesn't say which plans include client import. Imports fail in private browsing windows, and Jobber suggests syncing QuickBooks first to avoid duplicate clients. I didn't find a leads-specific import article.

4. Housecall Pro — Best for Multiple Import Paths

What it is

Housecall Pro lists four ways to add customers: a file import from a CSV or a prior system, a QuickBooks Online or Desktop import, phone contacts from Google, iPhone or Android, and manual entry. It recommends importing from one source only, whichever is most current. The customer file import and the prepare-your-data guide walk through the formatting.

Pricing

On monthly billing, Basic is $79 for 1 user, Essentials is $189 for 5 and Max is $329 for 8, with extra Max users at $35 a month. Annual billing drops those to $59, $149 and $299, per the Housecall Pro pricing page.

Where it fits

Contractors whose customer list already lives in QuickBooks or on their phone.

Tradeoffs

Working with the data import team for customers, job history, equipment and price book is a Max feature. Housecall Pro calls the basic transfer free but says extra charges may apply to multi-file exports or formatting outside the standard scope.

5. HubSpot — Best for Matching and Updating Records

What it is

HubSpot's import tool can create and update records, create new ones only, or update existing ones only. It matches rows to existing records with a unique identifier such as Record ID or email, and you map every column on a mapping screen before it runs. How it deduplicates records is documented separately.

Pricing

The HubSpot CRM page describes the CRM as free forever. I couldn't pull paid-tier prices from that page this build, so check them before you budget.

Where it fits

Contractors who buy or collect lists from several places and need to re-import and update the same records without creating duplicates.

Tradeoffs

It's a general-purpose CRM, not a field-service tool, so check that job scheduling and crew dispatch cover what you need before moving a list in. Importing needs Import and Edit permissions, and marking contacts as marketing contacts requires a Marketing Hub subscription.

6. FieldPulse — Best for Template Imports With a Verify Step

What it is

FieldPulse's customer import runs from Company Settings, Customers, Import Customers. You fill in its Mass Customer Import template, hit Verify, and the tool flags errors in red with a count of valid and invalid records before you upload. You can bulk-add contacts and locations to existing customers, keyed by customer ID or email, and the mobile app can import from your phone's contacts. The data imports and exports hub lists the rest.

Pricing

Quote only. The FieldPulse pricing page says pricing is seat-based and sends you to a custom quote. Its help article says self-import is included with your subscription at no extra cost.

Where it fits

Teams that want bad data caught before it lands, and don't mind working inside a template.

Tradeoffs

Headers in the template must stay exactly as they are. The article covers customers, not leads, and it doesn't state a maximum import size.

7. JobNimbus — Best for Contact-Only CSV Imports

What it is

JobNimbus contact imports take a CSV and nothing else. You map each column to a JobNimbus field with dropdowns, imports can take minutes to hours, and you get an email when it finishes. Jobs can't be imported. A second help article, import contacts, covers the same flow.

Pricing

Essentials (up to 3 users), Pro (10), Premium (19) and Enterprise (20 and up) all show "Request pricing" on the JobNimbus pricing page. The page says there are no required setup or onboarding fees, and paid Professional Services for data migration are an add-on.

Where it fits

Teams moving a contact list who plan to rebuild jobs from scratch.

Tradeoffs

Each contact's Display Name must be unique or the import fails with a "Duplicate contact exists" error, and different spellings of the same person can still slip through. Merging happens one record at a time.

8. ServiceTitan — Best for Implementation-Led Migrations

What it is

ServiceTitan's data import process has your admins fill in XLSX templates for customers, equipment, jobs and estimates, with a separate template for accounts receivable, and send them to an Implementation Manager who handles the import. It also publishes guides on exporting your Housecall Pro data and exporting your Service Fusion data, and a prepare-your-data guide.

Pricing

Per-technician pricing with no published numbers. Starter, Essentials and The Works each show "Request Pricing" on the ServiceTitan pricing page.

Where it fits

Larger shops that want someone else to run the migration and are already shopping for a heavier platform.

Tradeoffs

You can't self-serve a quick lead import. The help article doesn't state limits, fees or how duplicates are handled, and a one-to-four-person crew will likely find it more system than it needs.

What Operators Say

"QuoteIQ has been the best for me, best way to keep track on all my costumers." — Jaciel Perez (Google Play review)
"The app seems well organized and offers focused tools just for this industry." — Brian Torsell (Google Play review)

The QuoteIQ review database doesn't tag any of these reviewers as lead-import users, so read them as general feedback on the app.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best lead import software for home service contractors in 2026?

It depends on where your leads sit today. For a spreadsheet or an old CRM export, I'd start with QuoteIQ, because AI Smart Import maps the columns and you approve the mapping before anything lands, on every plan from $29.99 a month. If you have years of leads with statuses and ad sources to preserve, Workiz is the only tool here with a dedicated leads import, though support handles it. Most contractors fit the small-business mold: the SBA Office of Advocacy counts 36,207,130 small businesses, 99.9 percent of U.S. businesses, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics lists 597,918 specialty trade contractor establishments in the first quarter of 2026.

How do I import leads from a spreadsheet into a contractor CRM?

Save the sheet as a CSV, make sure each column has a clear header such as name, phone, email and address, and delete blank rows. Then use the CRM's import screen and map each column. In QuoteIQ, AI Smart Import does the mapping and you review it. In Jobber you upload a CSV, TSV or PSV file under 2.5 MB, which is roughly 5,000 rows, and errors show in red. FieldPulse has you fill in a template and press Verify. Whatever you use, import a small batch of five or ten rows first and check that names, phone numbers and addresses landed in the right fields before you load the rest. Add a column that tags where each lead came from, so you can see later which source actually paid off.

Can I import my customers from Jobber or Housecall Pro into another CRM?

Yes, as long as you can export a file. QuoteIQ's AI Smart Import page lists Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan exports as fully supported, and any tool that exports CSV works. Jobber's import clients article shows what its own export format looks like, including the J-ID column. Housecall Pro advises importing from one source only, whichever is most current, to avoid doubled-up records. Export first, open the file and clean it, and keep the original untouched until the new account looks right. Job history is the part that most often needs extra help, so ask the new vendor what it brings across.

How much does lead import software cost for a small contractor?

For most of these tools the import is part of the CRM, not a separate bill. QuoteIQ starts at $29.99 a month and includes AI Smart Import on every plan. Jobber starts at $49, Housecall Pro at $79 on monthly billing, and HubSpot's CRM is free. Workiz, FieldPulse, JobNimbus and ServiceTitan don't publish prices. Watch for the extras: Housecall Pro's hands-on import team is on its Max plan, JobNimbus sells data migration as a paid Professional Services add-on, and QuoteIQ offers an optional Done-For-You Setup at signup. See the Jobber vs QuoteIQ pricing breakdown for a full comparison. The import itself rarely costs extra. The real cost is your afternoon, so pick the tool whose process matches how clean your file is.

What should I clean up before importing leads into a CRM?

Fix duplicates first, because that's where most imports go wrong. JobNimbus will fail the import if two contacts share a Display Name, and Jobber suggests syncing QuickBooks first so you don't create duplicate clients. Standardize phone numbers and state abbreviations, put each email in its own column, and split first and last names if your CRM wants them separately. Workiz allows only one email address per lead and requires lead statuses and job types to match values already in the account. Delete old rows you'd never contact again, tag the lead source on every row, and keep an untouched backup of the original file so you can re-run the import if something lands wrong.

How do I get leads from my website form into my CRM automatically?

Use a form that writes straight to your CRM so nobody retypes anything. In QuoteIQ, Contact Request Forms can be embedded inline, as a sitewide popup or shared as a link with a QR code. Submissions land in an inbox in real time, and you accept one to create a contact. A REST API also lets Zapier, Make or n8n send leads in. Speed matters: the Harvard Business Review article The Short Life of Online Sales Leads found that most companies aren't responding to online inquiries nearly fast enough. For a leads-in-stages view, read the pipelines post. Whatever you pick, submit a test lead from your own phone and confirm it shows up where your crew will see it.

Can I import a purchased list of local leads into my CRM?

You can, as long as you can get it into a CSV and your CRM accepts the columns. QuoteIQ's Atlas works in the other direction: you search local businesses for free, see how many match before you pay, unlock the ones you want, and export those unlocked businesses to a CSV, and unlocked businesses never expire or get charged again. It's on every plan. Before you run texts or calls to any list you didn't build yourself, check the rules for contacting people who haven't opted in. For a deeper look at where to find prospects, see my lead finder app roundup and the lead management software for HVAC post.

How do I start a QuoteIQ trial and import my customer list?

Pick a plan on the QuoteIQ pricing page and start the 14-day trial, which covers every plan from Essentials at $29.99 through Max. A credit or debit card is required to start. Once you're in, upload your CSV in AI Smart Import, review the AI's column mapping, and confirm. You can also pull contacts from your phone's address book without a file. If you'd rather not do it yourself, there's an optional Done-For-You Setup add-on at signup, or you can watch the demo first to see the screens before you commit. Choose the plan for the users and features you need, not for the import, since Smart Import is on every plan. Start with a small test file before the whole list.

Bottom Line

Lead import is dull until the day you need it, and then it decides whether you're quoting by lunch or still fixing a spreadsheet at midnight. If you want the fastest path from a CSV to a working account, I'd go with QuoteIQ, and I'm not going to pretend I don't have a stake in that. If you have years of leads with statuses to preserve, take a hard look at Workiz. If your list is already a tidy spreadsheet, Jobber's validated client imports are worth a look. See the QuoteIQ demo and try your own file.
