Some users have shared feedback about difficulties canceling subscriptions or confusion around where cancellation should happen. We take that feedback seriously, and this article explains how cancellation works, why some confusion occurred in the past, and what we’ve done to make the process clearer and more transparent.
Why Some Users Experienced Confusion
Since inception, QuoteIQ has been available across multiple platforms:
Our website
The Apple App Store
The Google Play Store
This allowed users to access QuoteIQ on both desktop and mobile, which many customers found convenient. However, it also created confusion for some users around where their subscription was originally created, which directly affects where cancellation must occur.
This is not unique to QuoteIQ—subscriptions are controlled by the platform where they are purchased.
How Subscription Cancellation Actually Works
Cancellation depends entirely on where you signed up
If You Subscribed Through the Website
Cancellation is handled directly through your QuoteIQ account on desktop.
Once canceled, access continues until the end of the current billing period.
No additional charges occur after cancellation.
If You Subscribed Through the Apple App Store
Apple controls billing and cancellations.
Subscriptions must be canceled through your Apple ID settings.
QuoteIQ does not have the ability to cancel App Store subscriptions on a user’s behalf.
If You Subscribed Through the Google Play Store
Google controls billing and cancellations.
Subscriptions must be canceled through your Google Play account.
QuoteIQ cannot directly cancel Play Store subscriptions for users.
Because users could log in on desktop and mobile regardless of where they originally subscribed, some assumed cancellation could happen anywhere—when in reality, the platform of purchase determines the process.
What We’ve Done to Improve Clarity
Based on user feedback, we’ve made several improvements:
Clearer messaging inside the app about where subscriptions are managed
Improved support documentation outlining cancellation steps by platform
Faster routing by our support team when users need help identifying their subscription source
Our goal is to make sure users always know:
Where their subscription is billed
How to cancel it correctly
What to expect after cancellation
Our Commitment to Transparency
QuoteIQ does not use hidden retention tactics, lock-in strategies, or intentionally complicated cancellation flows. When confusion occurs, it’s typically due to platform-level billing rules—not intentional friction.
We believe users should be able to:
Understand their billing clearly
Cancel when they choose
Receive straightforward support if they have questions
If you’re ever unsure where your subscription was created, our support team can help you identify it quickly and point you to the correct cancellation steps.
Need Help?
If you have questions about your subscription or need help determining where it was created, reach out to our support team. We’re happy to walk through it with you and make sure everything is clear.
