Best Chemical Tracking Software for Tree Care (2026)

Oct 7
9 min read

I co-founded QuoteIQ and run my own exterior cleaning company on it, so I'm ranking it first and showing my work. For a tree care company that sprays, injects or treats soil, QuoteIQ's Chemical Tracking keeps the application record on the same job as the quote and the invoice. It comes with Pro and above, at $199.99 a month with four users included.

TL;DR

  • QuoteIQ: records on the same job as the quote and invoice, from Pro at $199.99.

  • Arborgold: the arborist specialist, with chemical tracking from Professional at $343.

  • Spraye: chemical tracking on every plan from $79.99, but built lawn-first.

  • GorillaDesk: material tracking from $49 a month for one route.

  • Homeworks and Jobber: general CRMs with chemical features on select plans.

  • SingleOps and Real Green: established systems whose public pages don't spell out chemical records.

How I Picked These

I run a pressure-cleaning company and co-founded QuoteIQ. I'm not an arborist, so I ranked these on things anyone can check. First, whether the vendor's own pages document chemical application records. Second, the cheapest plan that includes them at standard monthly billing, not annual discounts. Third, whether a crew can log a spray from the field. Fourth, whether tree care is a market the vendor names. Every competitor figure comes from that vendor's published pricing and feature pages, checked October 7, 2026, and where pricing sits behind a demo I say so instead of guessing. I use QuoteIQ myself; for the other seven I'm relying on those published pages, so confirm on the live site. This is aimed at owner-operators and crews of two to fifteen who need records an inspector can read.

1. QuoteIQ — Best Overall for Tree Care Chemical Tracking

What it is

QuoteIQ is the field service CRM I co-founded. Its Chemical Tracking logs each application against the job: product, EPA registration number, rate, treated area, method, target, wind, temperature and the applicator's certification. It's off until you switch it on, and our tree care page covers the rest of the CRM.

"Literally anything you need to document to cover your behind!" — Brandon Kitching (App Store review)

Pricing

Chemical Tracking comes with Pro at $199.99 a month: four users included, extra seats $25 each. Essentials starts at $29.99 without it. Every plan has a 14-day trial, and you can book a demo.

Where it fits

Crews that want the spray record, estimate and invoice in one app. A restricted-use product with no license on file stops the form, wind above the label limit blocks the save, and records sync after a no-signal job. Exports come as an inspector-ready PDF or a 40-column CSV.

Tradeoffs

Pro is the entry point, and it's an application-record tool, not a tree-by-tree inventory map. QuoteIQ's own page says it can't guarantee compliance, so confirm requirements with your state lead agency.

2. Arborgold — Best Arborist-Specific Platform

What it is

Arborgold is field service software for lawn, tree and landscaping work. Its plant health care page describes logging weather and chemical use on site so state reports can be printed and filed.

Pricing

Month-to-month pricing is Starter $149, Professional $343 and Enterprise $573. Chemical Tracking starts on Professional. Per-user rates aren't published.

Where it fits

Tree companies running full plant health care programs.

Tradeoffs

$343 is well above QuoteIQ's Pro, and Arborgold's state reporting article notes rules differ by state.

3. Spraye — Best for Spray Programs on a Budget

What it is

Spraye logs chemicals, rates, weather and times on each job and produces compliance reports. Its pricing page lists plant health care, including tree fertilization and disease control, among supported services.

Pricing

Monthly plans are Starter $79.99, Essentials $169.99, Premium $399.99 and Elite $999.99, all with chemical tracking. Extra users run $39.99 to $59.99, plus a one-time onboarding fee.

Where it fits

Lawn-and-ornamental crews, or tree companies whose spray work is most of the business.

Tradeoffs

Its homepage targets lawn treatment pros, not arborists, so expect to run tree operations elsewhere.

4. GorillaDesk — Best Low-Cost Material Logging

What it is

GorillaDesk lists tree care among its industries and offers material tracking, which its pricing page describes as accurate chemical use records.

Pricing

Plans are Basic $49, Pro $99 and Growth $149 a month for one route, with unlimited admin users. Material tracking is in Basic.

Where it fits

Small crews with one or two routes who want a cheap chemical log.

Tradeoffs

Cost scales with routes, and the pricing page describes the log but not state-format reports, so ask for a demo of the report.

5. Homeworks — Best for Small Home Service Teams

What it is

Homeworks targets home service companies earning $250,000 to $3 million. Its Copilot-branded help center shows each chemical application record capturing EPA numbers, restricted-entry intervals, weather and applicator licenses.

Pricing

Growth is $299 a month with chemical application tracking; Enterprise is $499. Extra users cost $15 a month.

Where it fits

Small mixed home service companies that spray occasionally.

Tradeoffs

Its own pricing page FAQ says it may not suit businesses where more than 75 percent of the work is chemical applications.

6. Jobber — General CRM With Web-Only Chemical Records

What it is

Jobber has a chemical tracking feature for registration numbers, pests treated, address and weather, with reports by date, client or applicator.

Pricing

Core is $49 a month for one user, with extra users at $29 each. Jobber says chemical tracking is on select plans and doesn't name which.

Where it fits

Crews already on Jobber who spray a little.

Tradeoffs

Jobber's help article says chemicals must be recorded from jobber.com, not the mobile app, which is awkward in the field.

7. SingleOps — Best Tree-Care Operations System

What it is

SingleOps is tree care software for arborists covering scheduling, estimating, work orders, invoicing and tree inventory.

Pricing

Plans are Essential $220, Plus $385 and Premier $550 a month. Extra office users cost $55 to $150; crew users are free.

Where it fits

Tree companies that want arborist-built operations and keep spray records elsewhere.

Tradeoffs

I couldn't find chemical application records on its pricing or plant health care pages, so ask for a demo of that workflow.

8. Real Green — Established but Quote-Only

What it is

Real Green markets arborist software for scheduling, routing, work orders and digital forms. GetApp's listing reports chemical usage tracking, which is reported, not vendor-confirmed.

Pricing

Pricing isn't published; the pricing page sends you to sales for a quote.

Where it fits

Shops with three or more crews willing to go through sales.

Tradeoffs

Its own arborist page doesn't describe chemical records, and without public pricing you can't compare cost.

What Operators Say

"It’s worth every cent because of the peace of mind I have now, knowing that my business is organized." — Will Browne (App Store review)
"Plus, it's 100% mobile, so it's easy to use in the field." — Jordan Holm (Google Play review)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best chemical tracking software for tree care companies?

For most owner-operators I'd pick QuoteIQ, because chemical records sit on the same job as the quote and invoice and can be logged from a phone. Arborgold is the closest arborist-specific specialist if you run a mapped plant health care program. Spraye and GorillaDesk are cheaper ways into chemical logs, and Jobber, Homeworks, SingleOps and Real Green fit if you already use them. The BLS counts about 70,600 tree trimmers and pruners employed in 2025, so this is a real niche with real recordkeeping. I co-founded QuoteIQ, so I've laid out every price, taken from each vendor's own page, for you to check.

How much does chemical tracking software cost for tree care?

Standard monthly prices I checked on October 7, 2026: GorillaDesk starts at $49 for one route, Spraye at $79.99, QuoteIQ at $199.99 on Pro, Homeworks at $299 on Growth and Arborgold at $343 on Professional. Jobber's Core plan is $49 but chemical tracking is on select plans, SingleOps starts at $220 without documented chemical records, and Real Green quotes by demo. Seats differ: QuoteIQ's Pro includes four users, Spraye's Starter one, and Homeworks charges $15 per extra user. Annual billing is cheaper at several vendors, but I left those figures out. Prices change, so check each page before you buy.

What do pesticide application records need to include?

For restricted-use pesticides, USDA recordkeeping rules require the product name, EPA registration number, amount applied, date, location, site treated, area size, and the applicator's name and certification number, within 14 days of the application. State rules vary and can be stricter, and the BLS notes that most states require licensing for workers who apply pesticides. QuoteIQ captures those fields on every record, freezes a snapshot of the applicator's license on it, and doesn't let anyone edit the logged-at time, so back-dating shows. No software guarantees compliance, so confirm what your state requires with your state lead agency.

How long do I have to keep pesticide application records?

Federal rules require certified applicators of restricted-use pesticides to keep those records for two years after the application, according to the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service. Your state may require longer or cover more products, so confirm before you set a retention policy. Jobber's help center notes that some jurisdictions can require records for up to seven years. Digital records make a long window easy, because the PDF or CSV export is searchable by job and date instead of sitting in a truck cab. Keeping the same record for every product, not only restricted-use ones, keeps your files consistent when an inspector asks.

Can crews log chemical applications without cell service?

With QuoteIQ's Chemical Tracking, yes. Records queue on the device when there's no signal and sync when the connection returns, keeping the original timestamps and license details. That matters on rural and wooded jobs, where signal is unreliable. Jobber is different: its help center says chemicals must be recorded from jobber.com rather than the mobile app, so a crew in a back lot can't log on the spot. I couldn't confirm offline logging for the other vendors from their public pages, so ask each for a demo of a no-signal job. Logging later also costs paid time, and the BLS puts median pay for tree trimmers and pruners at $24.50 an hour.

Does Jobber have chemical tracking for tree care companies?

In a general way, yes. Jobber's chemical tracking feature records registration numbers, pests treated, property address and weather, and produces reports by date, client or applicator. Its pricing page doesn't name the plan, and the help center says the feature is on select plans, so confirm on your account. Setup includes your company license, applicator license numbers and a chemicals list with tank mixes. Tree care is an industry Jobber serves, but I didn't find tree-specific tools like plant inventory on the feature page. It suits a crew that sprays occasionally more than a program built on mapped trees.

What is the difference between chemical tracking and plant health care software?

Chemical tracking records what was applied, where, when, by whom and under what conditions, so you can hand an inspector a clean record. Plant health care software goes further for arborists, tying treatments to individual trees and job costing for injections and sprays. Arborgold's plant health care page describes that fuller workflow, and SingleOps keeps a tree inventory. QuoteIQ covers the record side for any trade that applies chemicals, so a company that wants mapped plant histories should weigh those two. If you only need inspector-ready records, the lighter tool costs less and keeps the crew's workflow simpler.

Is there a free trial for chemical tracking software?

QuoteIQ gives every plan a 14-day trial, and Chemical Tracking is on Pro, so you can test the record workflow on a real job before you commit. Jobber's pricing page also advertises a 14-day trial with full access to its Grow plan, so ask whether chemical tracking is on the plan you'd keep, and whether its web-only logging fits your crew. Real Green sends you to sales for a quote, and Spraye charges a one-time onboarding fee that depends on how many properties you transfer. Run one full spray job from quote to inspector PDF during any trial, including a no-signal log, before you move your customer list over.

Bottom Line

Operator to operator: if you spray, inject or treat trees and want the record, the estimate and the invoice in one app, start with QuoteIQ's Pro plan and book a demo.
